Top 10 NFL Teams Week 20 – Can Josh Allen lead the Bills through the Playoffs & into the Super Bowl?
After witnessing a dominant performance from Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, can they carry this performance all the way to the Super Bowl?
By admin | January 20, 2022
As we enter the 2022 NFL Divisional Round Defense and Mike Vrabel has Tennessee with a Titans chance in the playoffs and also the top teams in this upcoming wild card weekend
The march towards Super Bowl LVI continues as the 2022 NFL Divisional Round of the playoffs is set to kick off with double header action on Saturday January 22nd, 2022 and Sunday January 23rd, 2022.
After an exciting Wild Card Weekend that featured six exciting contests including the first ever Monday Night playoff matchup during the postseason. Now after the contests are over, the field is set to the best eight teams in the NFL as they look to make another stride for a chance to win the Super Bowl.
With the eight teams remaining, the big question is which of these eight teams are the best and which team is the weakest link. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers continued their post season dominance with Tom Brady while Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs steamrolled the Pittsburgh Steelers.
As we all get excited for Super Bowl LVI on February 13th, 2022, here is our Week 20 NFL Power Rankings heading into the 2022 NFL Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs.
With that said, here is our Week 20 NFL Power Rankings:
Featured Team
Buffalo Bills
At the top of the list is the impressive Buffalo Bills despite not being the number one seed in the AFC heading into the playoffs. The Bills used a spectacular performance from Josh Allen to derail the New England Patriots 47-17 on Wild Card Saturday. More on them later in the rankings.
Top 10 NFL Power Rankings
10. Arizona Cardinals
Rounding out the Top 10 teams in the Week 20 NFL Power Rankings is the Arizona Cardinals who were not able to keep their early season momentum rolling to finish the season and into the playoffs. The Cardinals who faltered late during the season while watching the NFC West land to the Los Angeles Rams, also saw their Super Bowl dreams end to the Rams during Wild Card Weekend on Monday Night Football.
After finishing the regular season at 11-6 and making the playoffs, the Cardinals have a lot of potential to move forward and continue that success including the play of Kyler Murray. Murray, who appeared in just 14 games this season, threw for 3,787 yards to go along with 24 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions while adding 423 yard and five rushing touchdowns.
The Cardinals quarterback pulled off these numbers without having DeAndre Hopkins for nearly half of the season including during the team’s playoff loss.

9. Dallas Cowboys
Despite coming up during NFL Wild Card Weekend, the Dallas Cowboys still sit as one of the top 10 teams in the NFL. The Cowboys who fell to the San Francisco 49ers 23-17 took it down to the final whistle with an opportunity to make a play at the win.
The Cowboys have a very talented team on both sides of the ball led by star quarterback Dak Prescott who finished the year setting the team record with 37 touchdown passes, a record once held by Tony Romo (36).
Along with Romo the offense features Ezekiel Elliot, Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb and Dalton Schultz. On the defensive side of the ball the team was led by NFL interception leader Trevon Diggs and standout rookie Micah Parsons.
As you can see Dak Prescott clearly saw the ref coming and deliberately stepped in front of him. I personally believe Mike McCarthy told him to do this. Disgraceful. pic.twitter.com/kTIAiQfTIp

8. San Francisco 49ers
Coming in at number at on the Week 20 NFL Power Rankings, is the San Francisco 49ers who entered the playoffs as the 7th seed in the NFC but used their versatile offense and solid defense to upset the Dallas Cowboys on Wild Card Weekend.
The 49ers have a ton of talent include the swiss army knife of football players in Deebo Samuel. Samuel posted 108 total yard to go along with one touchdown. Meanwhile on the defensive side of the ball Nick Bosa is a playmaker who opposing offensive lines must slow down.
Despite the impressive performance, Jimmy Garoppolo is holding the team back from a higher power ranking as his inconsistent play and potential to turn over the ball is a concern heading into their matchup against the best team in the NFC, the Green Bay Packers.

7. Los Angeles Rams
One of the most explosive teams on paper, the Los Angeles Rams have the talent to potentially win the Super Bowl. The team is led by a long list of talented stars including two of the best defensive players in the NFL in Jalen Ramsey and Aaron Donald.
While the upgrade at the quarterback position in Matthew Stafford gives them the arm to compete. On Wild Card Weekend, the Rams became the first team to win a playoff Monday Night matchup beating the Arizona Cardinals 34-11 to move on to the Divisional Round of the 2022 NFL Playoffs.
Big concerns with this Rams team is their lack of dominating running back and the concern with the potential for turnovers with Stafford. These concerns have the Rams near the bottom of the remaining eight NFL playoff teams.

6. Cincinnati Bengals
While it was hard to slot the Cincinnati Bengals in at Number 6 on the Week 20 NFL Playoff Power rankings list, the teams ahead have the postseason experience to land them higher. Nonetheless this Bengals team is as explosive as any team on the offensive side of the ball and should be a team to compete in the AFC for the foreseeable future.
After knocking out the Las Vegas Raiders 26-19 in the AFC Wild Card contest, the Bengals now have their eyes set on the Tennessee Titans. The Bengals success resides around their offense that is led by Joe Burrow, Joe Mixon, Ja’Marr Chase, Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins. Chase, the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, is as good of a receiver as any in the NFL after setting the NFL rookie receiving yard mark this past season.
Meanwhile, Burrow has the arm and playmaking abilities to keep them in any game. The big upside to the Bengals offense is their ability to run the ball led by Joe Mixon while also having a handful of trick options to turn to. Their success in the NFL Divisional Round will only happen if they can find a way to slow down Derrick Henry and the Titans offense.

5. Tennessee Titans
After an opening round NFL Playoff bye as the top team in the AFC this season, the Tennessee Titans get set for a pivotal matchup against a very good Cincinnati Bengals team. Luckily for the Titans, All-Pro running back Derrick Henry is set to return and his ability to be a game changer on offense has the Titans as a potential Super Bowl contender.
While the stretch run looked concerning at times, the Titans found a way to win as their defense allowed fewer than 20 points in four of their last five games leading two four while Ryan Tannehill and the offense did just enough to push them over the edge.
Despite holding the top spot in the AFC, the Titans land at number 5 on the Week 20 NFL Power Rankings due to concern on how healthy Henry is and whether or not Tannehill can make the key play when needed in the postseason if Henry is as dominant as himself.
If Henry is as dominant as before the injury, the Titans can run to the win while limiting the time of play the Bengals explosive offense has on the field.

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tom Brady is once again back at the center of the NFL Playoffs while looking to guide the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to their second straight Super Bowl title. As long as the Bucs have Brady under center they are a playoff caliber team and one to beat.
While the Buccaneers pulled out a 31-15 win against the Philadelphia Eagles on Wild Card Weekend, concerns over the team’s depth at the wide receiver position is alarming while the injury issue with Leonard Fournette is also a blow. Now with Mike Evans as the team’s primary weapon at receiver, the loss of Chris Godwin and the departure of Antonio Brown leaves the team looking for the complimentary option.
Nonetheless the Buccaneers are still one of the Top 4 NFL Playoff Teams remaining heading into the 2022 NFL Divisional Round. Meanwhile, injury concerns on the offensive line has also played a role in a drop to number four.

3. Kansas City Chiefs
Some could argue that the Kansas City Chiefs are playing as good as any team in the NFL and that they are well deserving as the #1 ranking on the Week 20 NFL Power Rankings. While the team was able to bounce back after a slow start that saw struggles on both sides of the ball, the potential for issues on the defensive side of the ball has the land at number three on the power rankings list.
While the defense showed big strides in the second half of the year, their week 18 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals showed holes in their secondary that may have a difficulty in slowing down opposing teams moving offense. On the plus side, Patrick Mahomes put together a brilliant performance on Wild Card Sunday throwing for 404 yards to go along with five passing touchdowns.
One additional concern that is holding the Chiefs back has been their turnover issue which could play a key factor against a Bills team that has been protecting the ball.

2. Green Bay Packers
When you look at this Green Bay Packers team it is hard to not like what they have on both sides of the ball while having the potential NFL MVP in Aaron Rodgers under center. Rodgers threw for 4,115 yards this season to go along with 37 touchdown passes to just four interceptions while putting together this success in just 16 games.
In addition the Packers offense is featured by Davante Adams who finished third in the NFL in receiving yards with 1,553 in just 16 games to go along with 11 touchdown receptions. Meanwhile the Packers defense ranked in the Top 10 in yards allowed per game (328.2), passing yards allowed per game (219.1), rushing yards allowed per game (109.1) and takeaways (26).
The team’s ability to play on both sides of the ball makes them a dangerous team in the playoffs. Add that with their ability to take the ball away while Rodgers protects the ball is a true game changer and one that could have the Packers playing Super Bowl LVI.

1. Buffalo Bills
Heading into the 2021 NFL Playoffs the Buffalo Bills may have not seen the top spot on NFL Power Rankings list. However, after their ability to shed off the New England Patriots on Wild Card Saturday and the dominance play of Josh Allen, it is hard not to look at the Bills as the team to beat entering the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs.
Allen put together a stellar performance throwing for 308 yards while connecting on 21 of his 25 passes to go along with five touchdowns. In addition, Allen’s ability to make plays with his feet makes him a dangerous weapon, something he showcased against the Patriots as he was able to run for 66 yards on six carries.
Down the stretch, Allen played as well as any quarterback in the league while leading the Bills to four straight wins to win the AFC East Division and positioning himself into the NFL MVP debate. Allen’s ability to make plays with his arm and feet makes the Bills a dangerous team.
In addition to Allen, the Bills defense is talented and one that ranks near the top in every defensive category. This includes the ability to create turnovers after finishing the regular season with the third most takeaways (30). Overall the Bills defense ranked 1st in yards allowed per game (272.8), 1st in passing yards allowed per game (163) and 1st in points allowed per game (17).
