Updating the Mini Flyweight Boxing Rankings after Oscar Collazo’s successful WBO Minimumweight title defense against Melvin Jerusalem.

Wilfredo Méndez

Wilfredo Méndez is a professional boxer from Puerto Rico, and he has a record of 18 wins and 3 losses. 

Méndez is the former WBO mini flyweight champion. He won the title after defeating Vic Saludar back in 2019.

In his most recent fight, he lost to Yudai Shigeoka, and his next fight has not been announced yet.

Ayanda Ndulani

Title(s):

  • IBO Minimumweight World Champion

Ayanda Ndulani is a professional boxer from South Africa, and he has a record of 13 wins and 2 losses. 

Ndulani is the current IBO minimumweight world champion, and he won the title after defeating Nkosinathi Joyi. he has defended the title twice. 

In his most recent fight, he lost to Luis Castillo Soto, and his next fight has not been announced yet.

Masataka Taniguchi

9. Rene Mark Cuarto

The next fighter on this list is also from the Philippines. Rene Mark Cuarto is a professional boxer with a record of 21 wins, 4 losses, and 2 draws. 

Rene Mark Cuarto is the former IBF mini-flyweight champion. He won the title after defeating Pedro Taduran. However, after one defense he lost the title to Daniel Valladares

8. Wanheng Menayothin

Wanheng Menayothin is a Thai professional boxer with a record of 55 wins and only 3 losses.

In his most recent fight, he defeated Wilfredo Méndez and is scheduled to fight Panya Pradabsri for the WBC world title on October 7th, 2023.

6. Ginjiro Shigeoka

Ginjiro Shigeoka is a Japanese boxer, and he has an undefeated professional record with 9 wins, no losses, and 1 no-contest. 

Shigeoka is the current interim IBF mini-flyweight world champion. He won the title earlier this year after defeating Rene Mark Cuarto and has previously held the Japanese and WBO Asia Pacific mini-flyweight titles as well. 

He is scheduled to fight Daniel Valladares for the IBF world title in his next fight.

5. Melvin Jerusalem

Melvin Jerusalem is a  Filipino professional boxer, with a professional record of 17 wins and 3 losses.

He is the current WBO mini-flyweight world champion and won the title after defeating Masataka Taniguchi via an impressive 2nd round TKO. Jerusalem lost the first round on the scorecards, however, in the first minute of the second round, he landed a solid one-two combination to put his opponent down.

In his most recent fight, he lost the title to Oscar Collazo, and his next fight has not been announced yet. 

4. Daniel Valladares
