is an undefeated Boxer from the USA, who has a record of 17 wins and 1 draw. Though he doesn’t make our list, he does deserve an honorable mention. He is also ranked as the 9th best super middleweight boxer in the world by The Ring. 

Liam Smith

is a British Boxer with a record of 29 wins, 3 losses, and 1 draw. He is also the former WBO light-middleweight champion and is ranked number nine among active Super Welterweight boxers by BoxRec. 

 

Top 10 Super Welterweights

  1. Magomed Kurbanov

Magomed Kurbanov is a professional boxer from Russia. He has an undefeated professional record of 22 wins and no losses. 

Though he hasn’t won a world title yet, he is a two-time WBO International light middleweight champion and has also held the WBO Intercontinental light middleweight title. As an amateur, he won a gold medal at the 2008 Youth World Championships.

His last fight was against Liam Smith which he won via UD, and his next fight has not been announced yet

 

  1. Michel Soro

Michel Soro is a French professional boxer, with a record of 35 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw. 

Over the course of his career, he has challenged for multiple world titles, but couldn’t win He challenged Zaurbek Baysangurov in 2012 for the WBO and IBO titles, but lost via UD. At the regional level, he has held the WBO European junior middleweight title twice, the EBU European middleweight title, and the WBA International super welterweight title as well. 

He won his last fight against Cédric Vitu and his next fight has not been announced yet. 

 

  1. Tim Tszyu

The next boxer on our list is from Australia. Tim Tszyu is an undefeated professional fighter with a record of 19 wins and no losses. 

Most notably, he has held the Australian light-middleweight title. In his most recent fight, he defeated Steve Spark to Retain his WBO Global light-middleweight title and win the vacant Commonwealth light-middleweight title as well. 

His next fight has not been announced yet. 

 

  1. Tony Harrison

Tony Harrison is an excellent fighter from the US, he has a professional record of 28 wins, 3 losses, and 1 draw. 

Harrison is a former WBC light middleweight champion, and he held the title from 2018 to 2019. He was also challenged for the IBF light middleweight title in 2017 but lost. 

In his most recent fight, he faced Bryant Perrella, the fight was ruled as a draw. His next fight has not been announced yet. 

 

  1. Julian Williams

Williams is an American professional boxer, with a record of 27 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw, and 1 no contest. 

Julian Williams is also a former Unified world champion. He defeated Jarrett Hurd in 2019 and won the WBA (Super), IBF, and IBO light middleweight titles. He held the titles since his last fight when he lost them to Jeison Rosario. 

His next fight has not been announced yet. 

 

  1. Erickson Lubin

The next boxer on our list is also from the US, Erickson Lubin is a boxer with a professional record of 24 wins and 1 loss. 

Most notably, Lubin challenged Jermell Charlo for the WBC super welterweight title in 2017 but lost the fight. Lubin is the current WBC Silver super welterweight champion, and in his most recent fight, he defended the title against Jeison Rosario

Lubin’s next fight has not been announced yet.

  1. Brian Castaño

Title(s): WBO Champion

Brian Castaño is an incredible boxer from Argentina. He has an undefeated professional record with 17 wins and 2 draws. 

Castaño is the current WBO light middleweight and has held the title since February. Furthermore, he has also held the WBA interim light middleweight title between 2016 and 2018, and the WBA (Regular) light middleweight title between 2018 and 2019.

This past weekend Castaño had a shot to unify all four major belts. His WBO title along with Jermell Charlo’s WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, and The Ring light middleweight titles. 

Castaño put in a lot of work and controlled many of the rounds with is pressure. He was even able to hurt Charlo with a left hook early. Unfortunately he didn’t win but he didn’t lose either. This exciting fight ended in a draw. A rematch between the two will hopefully be next to unify the titles. 

 

  1. Erislandy Lara

Title(s): WBA Regular Champion

Lara is a Cuban-American boxer with a professional record of 28 wins, 3 losses, and 3 draws. 

Erislandy Lara is a two-weight world champion. He is the current unified, IBO, and WBA (Regular) light middleweight champion. And in his most recent fight, he also won the vacant WBA (Regular) middleweight title

Lara’s next fight hasn’t been announced yet. 

 

  1. Jarrett Hurd

At number 2, we have Jarrett Hurd. The American Professional Boxer has a record of 24 wins and 2 losses. 

Hurd is a former unified super welterweight world champion. He defeated Tony Harrison in 2017 to win the vacant BF light middleweight title, after defending it one, he fought Erislandy Lara and won the WBA (Super) and IBO light middleweight titles as well. 

He lost his most recent fight, which was against Luis Arias, and there is no official announcement about his next fight. 

 

  1. Jermell Charlo

Title(s): WBA Super, WBC, IBF, The Ring Champion

On the top of the list, we have Jermell Charlo. The American professional boxer has a record of 34 wins and one loss and he is the current unified light middleweight world champion. 

He currently holds the WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, and The Ring light middleweight titles and he just fought Brian Castaño for his WBO light-middleweight title to unify all the belts to become the undisputed world champion.

In the fight, Charlo hurt Castano with a counter left in the 2nd round. He was also keeping him at bay with his jab and straights piercing through Castano’s guard. Jermell Charlo’s most favorable rounds were late in the fight where he displayed his power hurting Castano multiple times. 

Unfortunately, like I said earlier he didn’t win but he didn’t lose either. The fight ended in a draw. Hopefully a rematch is next for both fighters.
