MLB Top 10 Right Fielders 2023 Rankings

The second full month of the 2023 Major League Baseball season is coming to an end as the baseball schedule gets set to kick off the last full week of May. As you start to look at the performance on the field many MLB players have gotten off to a hot start.

One of those players is the Texas Rangers right fielder Adolis Garcia who currently leads all right fielders with 14th home runs while also ranking 3rd in all of baseball. Garcia currently lands atop the Top 10 MLB Right Fielders 2023 Rankings list.

As Garcia continues to put together a strong start to the season, another right fielder who is putting together a strong resume is the Atlanta Braves All-Star Ronald Acuna Jr.

Acuna Jr currently ranks among top 10 in multiple offensive categories including hits, doubles, home runs and runs batted in among all right fielders.

Joining Acuna and Garcia among the best right fielders currently includes Josh Lowe of the Tampa Bay Rays, Mookie Betts of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Hunter Renfroe of the Los Angeles Angels. Here is a look at the Top 10 MLB Right Fielders 2023 Rankings list.

Honorable Mention

Lane Thomas

Team: Washington Nationals

Landing just outside of the Top 10 MLB Right Fielders 2023 Rankings list is the Washington Nationals right fielder Lane Thomas. Thomas has been solid for the Nationals all season both at the plate as well as in the field.

Entering the last full week of May, the Nationals right fielder has posted a .990 field percentage to go along with three outfield assists.

Meanwhile at the plate Thomas has added a .290 batting average to go along with seven doubles, one triple, six home runs, and 23 runs batted in. 

Kris Bryant

Team: Colorado Rockies

The former third baseman converted right fielder has played well to start the season for the Colorado Rockies. While the power numbers are not where they have been over the past few seasons, Kris Bryant continues to hit the ball well this season.

Through 43 games played this season, Bryant ranks 5th among all right fielders while posting a .288 batting average. To go along with the solid average, Bryant has 47 hits in 163 at bats this season including five doubles and five home runs.

10. Jake Fraley

Team: Cincinnati Reds

Coming in at number 10 on the Top 10 MLB Right Fielders 2023 Rankings list is the Cincinnati Reds 27-year-old right fielder Jake Fraley. Fraley, who is on pace to play the most games of his MLB career, has been solid all season for the Reds.

Through 42 games this season the Reds right fielder has hit .276 with six doubles, five home runs and 19 walks. In addition to those numbers Fraley currently 4th among MLB right fielders while driving in 32 runs.

9. Alex Verdugo

Team: Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox lineup is loaded with talented stars including Alex Verdugo who currently ranks 3rd among MLB right fielders with 53 hits. His 53 hits have paced Verdugo to a .296 batting average and a .475 slugging percentage mark.

The 27-year-old right fielder who has been with the Red Sox full time in each of the past two seasons continues to find ways to get on base this season.

Over 179 at bats Verdugo has posted 15 doubles, one triple, five home runs, 19 runs batted in, and 37 runs scored. In addition to ranking 3rd in hits, Verdugo currently ranks 3rd in batting average, tied for 1st in doubles, and 3rd in runs scored among all right fielders.

8. Anthony Santander

Team: Baltimore Orioles

When you start to look around at all the MLB teams, one team that stands out is the Baltimore Orioles who continue to win baseball games. One player contributing to the success of the team is right fielder Anthony Santander.

The Orioles right fielder is currently batting .259 on the season with 12 doubles, eight home runs, and 26 runs batted in. Meanwhile the Orioles right fielder also has added 43 hits over his first 166 at bats while also posting a .813 OPS mark for a team fighting to contend in the AL east.

7. Nick Castellanos

Team: Philadelphia Phillies

After nearly finding a way to win the World Series during the 2022 MLB Season, the Philadelphia Phillies are fighting to contend in the National League East to start the 2023 MLB schedule.

One player who has been a key contributor all season is the veteran Nick Castellanos. The Phillies right fielder currently ranks 2nd among all right fielders in hits with 54 on the season over his first 178 at bats. In addition to hitting, Castellanos currently leads all right fielders with six outfield assists as well as two double plays started. 

6. Kyle Tucker

Team: Houston Astros

One of the stars of the Houston Astros team and lineup is their 26-year-old right fielder Kyle Tucker who was also a key contributor during the team’s World Series run last season.

Tucker entered the 2023 MLB season looking to add to his back-to-back 30 home run seasons. So far, his production has been solid all seasons including ranking 10th among all right fielders in home runs with seven through his first 46 games played.

The Astros right fielder has also added nine doubles, 33 runs batted in, and a .276 batting average while helping to pace the Astros offense to start the season.

5. Mookie Betts

Team: Los Angeles Dodgers

Rounding out the Top 10 MLB Right Fielders 2023 Rankings list is the Los Angeles Dodgers veteran right fielder Mookie Betts. Betts, who has put together a strong MLB career leading into the 2023 MLB season, has continued to perform well through his first 45 games of the season. 

The Dodgers right fielder currently ranks tied for 4th among all right fielders with 10 home runs, while also ranking 3rd in doubles with 13 to start the season.

In addition to his performance at the plate, Betts is one of six qualified right fielders who has yet to make an error to start the MLB season while also adding three outfield assists.

4. Hunter Renfroe

Team: Los Angeles Angels

As Hunter Renfroe looks to find a home he can call home for more than a season, the veteran has showcased his abilities to the Los Angeles Angels to start the season.

Renfroe who is in his first season with the Angels is currently batting .267 on the season with nine doubles and 10 home runs while also driving in 29 runs, picked up 48 total hits, and scored 29 times over the course of his first 46 during the 2023 MLB schedule. 

3. Josh Lowe

Team: Tampa Bay Rays

If you weren’t too familiar with Josh Lowe of the Tampa Bay Rays entering the 2023 MLB season, you ought to be now as the 2023 MLB schedule has its sights set on June.

Lowe who is 25 years old is off to one of the hottest stars in baseball including ranking 7th in batting average (.318), tied for 11th in home runs (11), tied for 10th in runs batted in (34), and 5th with a 1.027 OPS mark. In addition to those numbers Lowe has added 11 doubles, 42 total hits, 27 runs scored, and a .375 on base percentage.

2. Ronald Acuna Jr.

Team: Atlanta Braves

When it comes to the top two players landing on the Top 10 MLB Right Fielders 2023 Rankings list. Each are very well deserving of the top spot with both players putting together strong seasons.

In the end Ronald Acuna Jr of the Atlanta Braves lands at number two among the best right fielders in baseball. The Braves outfielder is tremendous both at the plate as well as in the field to start the season.

Currently Acuna Jr is tied for 2nd with five outfield assists to go along with a .967 fielding percentage mark. Meanwhile at the plate Acuna has posted 13 doubles, 11 home runs, and 27 runs batted in over 46 games played this season. In addition, Acuna Jr leads all right fielders with 18 stolen bases.

1. Adolis Garcia

Team: Texas Rangers

In at number one on the Top 10 MLB Right Fielders 2023 Rankings list is the Texas Rangers right fielder Adolis Garcia. Garcia enters late May 2023, leading all right fielders in home runs with 14 and runs batted in with 49 total over 45 games played.

The Rangers outfielder has also added six doubles over his first 43 hits of the season. Garcia has also added six doubles while scoring 39 runs, walking 18 times, and stealing three bases for a Rangers team looking to compete in the AL West division.
