MMA Light Heavyweight Fan Rankings

Jon Jones last win against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 was another notch under his belt for the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and Pound For Pound fighter in the world. Jon Jones was able to secure a split decision in a fight I felt that he lost. Jon Jones, at 32 years old, looks like a slower and older fighter. There is no shame in losing against father time but when father time comes early because of decisions he has made in his personal life then it becomes unfortunate. His latest DWI and stories of his past training sessions coming to light are just more storylines of the Jon Jones saga. Jones can get away with this in his younger days as much as he wanted but not anymore. While a good fight took place his slowed down performance proved that he can’t make these mistakes anymore. He has to get serious before it is too late. With all that said I don’t want to take anything away from Dominick Reyes. The 30 year old has proved against Jon Jones that he is a future champion.
10. Glover Teixeira
Glover Teixeira continues his climb after his win against Nikita Krylov. He will take on a huge step in his fight against Anthony Smith.
9. Corey Anderson
Corey Anderson’s last impressive win was a TKO finish against Johnny Walker two fights ago.
8. Phil Davis
In 10 years Phil Davis has only lost twice to two people and they are ahead of him in the rankings. That is Ryan Bader and Vadim Newkov . Now a veteran he is not allowing young up and comers like Karl Albretsson to get in his way finishing him by TKO.
7. Vadim Nedkov
Vadim Nedkov’s last three impressive wins against Liam McGeary, Phil Davis, and Rafael Carvalho. He will face the Bellator Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight Champion Ryan Bader.
6. Ryan Bader
Before Ryan Bader took his Light Heavyweight hiatus to secure a second Bellator World Title he racked up a four fight win streak which three were in impressive KO fashion. He will take on Vadim Nedkov which looks to be an exciting fight.
5. Anthony Smith
Since Anthony Smith’s UFC Light Heavyweight debut his only defeat has been against the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones. Glover Texeira has a big task against him.
4. Jan Blachowicz
Jan Blachowicz has won seven out of eight including his last bout against Corey Anderson that garnered him Performance of the Night. Ronaldo Souza and Luke Rockhold also on his ledger make him worthy o title shot.
3. Thiago Silva
Thiago Silva’s win against Jan Blachowicz launched to a fight against Jon Jones where he eventually lost. His injuries during the fight could give him reasons for another shot.
2. Dominick Reyes
Dominick Reyes’s performance against the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones shows he is next in line to be the next champion. His lost doesn’t lose him anything in the rankings. If Jon Jones has to take time away from the cage I can see Thiago Silva vs. Dominick Reyes for the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight Title.
1. Jon Jones
Jon Jones is still the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and #1 Pound For Pound in the world yet we can honestly say he has slowed down a bit watching his last fight against Dominick Reyes. Either way if he stays at LHW I don’t see a challenge to him unless he fights Reyes again in a rematch.
