By admin | March 9, 2023
The evolution of the NBA continues to see the style of play on the hardwood change from NBA season to NBA season. Much of this evolution has come with the evolution of athleticism as more and more big men are showcasing each season around the NBA.
This is the same at the power forward position, a position that once was known for their power down low and defensive abilities has emerged into a position that can carry the team’s offense while also leading the NBA in scoring.
As you start to look at the Top 10 NBA Power Forward rankings list, many of these big men have the ability to do it all for their respective teams.
One of those power forwards that can do it all is the Milwaukee Bucks All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo. As you look at the Greek Freaks basketball game, he can do it all from attacking the glass for rebounds, driving to the rim for a dunk, shooting from behind the three-point line, as well as finding his open shooters to make plays happen.
Along with Antetokounmpo the newly acquired Kevin Durant who the Phoenix Suns acquired is almost impossible to guard at the position while being able to take over games.
Other top power forwards in the NBA during the first half of the 2022-23 NBA schedule include Pascal Siakam of the Toronto Raptors, Julius Randle of the New York Knicks, Paolo Banchero of the Orlando Magic, and Paul George of the Los Angeles Clippers. Here is a look at the Top 10 NBA Power Forwards 2023 Rankings.
Honorable Mention
Christian Wood
Team: Dallas Mavericks

Wood, who was acquired prior to the start of the 2022-23 NBA season, is a versatile big man who has stretched the floor while also providing a shooter from all over the court.
In his first season with the Mavericks the former UNLV Rebels star is averaging 17.8 points per game to go along with eight rebounds and 1.8 assists.
On the defensive end of the floor Woods has been a tremendous defender posting 1.2 blocked shots per game while using his size to make it difficult for opposing scorers to attack the rim.
Tobias Harris
Team: Philadelphia 76ers
One player that is currently overshadowed within the Philadelphia 76ers lineup is Tobias Harris who slides in well with proven All-Stars Joel Embiid and James Harden.
Harris, who has been in the league since the 2011 NBA Draft continues to be as productive as most power forwards while having fewer chances playing with two of the best players within their positions.
Nonetheless Harris has still managed to average 15.4 points per game this season to go along with six rebounds and 2.6 assists. The 76ers power forward has shown his ability to shoot from the field posting a 49.6 field goal percentage mark from the field as well as 37.3 percent from behind the three-point line.

Markkaken, who is averaging a career high 24.9 points per game this season is shooting 51.3 percent from the field while connecting on 41.3 percent of his three-point attempts per game.
To go along with those numbers the Jazz power forward is averaging 8.6 rebounds per game and 1.8 assists to go along with 22 double doubles.

3. Pascal Siakam
Team: Toronto Raptors
Each of the top three power forwards landing on the list of the best power forwards in the NBA are well deserving of the top spot. However only one can take home that spot with the Toronto Raptors power forward Pascal Siakam sliding in at number three.
The Raptors power forward is as dominant as any power forward in the NBA while also delivering his team a big man who can shoot from behind the three-point line. Currently Siakam is shooting 34.3 percent from behind the three-point line to go along with 48.2 percent from the field.
The former New Mexico State Aggies big man is ranked 2nd among power forwards in scoring with enough games played while averaging 25.2 points per game. In addition, Siakam is averaging 7.8 rebounds per game to go alongside 6.1 assists per game.

Despite battling injuries this season it is hard not to put Kevin Durant among the best power forwards in the NBA or even the best small forwards depending on how the team elects to use him.
Now as he gets a fresh start on an extremely talented Phoenix Suns team the big question down the stretch will be whether he can stay healthy to play.
When on the floor this season, Durant has averaged 29.7 points per game to go with 1.5 blocked shots, 6.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game.
1. Giannis Antetokounmpo
