The 2021-22 NBA Season is off and running as the NBA schedule has rolled into week 5 of the season. As the hype was built around the NBA off-season including an exciting 2021 NBA draft and free agency, the season has gotten off to a hot start for a few teams while other teams have struggled to find consistency.

One team that has started off fast is the Brooklyn Nets who were predicted to be one of the top teams in the NBA Eastern Conference this season. Meanwhile the Golden State Warriors have found their success and health to open up the season as they sit atop the NBA Western Conference after the first four weeks of the regular season. Other teams that have had success include the Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns, Denver Nuggets, the Chicago Bulls and the surprising Cleveland Cavaliers.

With that said, here is our list of the Top 10 NBA Teams for November 2021-2022

Honorable Mention

Los Angeles Clippers

With all eyes and hype on the two NBA franchises in Los Angeles, only the Los Angeles Clippers have found a way to be mentioned with the Top 10 NBA Teams 2021-22 through the first few weeks of the 2021-22 NBA schedule.

The Clippers have started the season winning eight of their first 13 games to start the season including posting a 6-3 overall record at home while also winning seven of their past 10 overall games. Paul George is leading the way averaging 26.5 points a game to go with 8.2 rebounds and 5.2 steals.

Philadelphia 76ers

The “Trust the Process” success has slowly started to fade in Philadelphia as the Philadelphia 76ers have struggled to regain the success they witnessed a year ago. With off-season drama featuring Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, the team has won just eight of their first 13 games while winning just four of their first eight home contests.

After an impressive 8-2 start, the team has lost four straight games as the team has dealt with injuries as Embiid has appeared in just nine contests and fellow teammate Tobias Harris has played in just eight games. Embiid and Harris are both averaging over 21 points a game with at least nine rebounds and four assists. The success of the 76ers moving forward will hinge on the production of these two stars.

Top 10 NBA Teams

  1. Miami Heat

Coming off back to back solid seasons including an NBA Finals appearance during the Pandemic NBA season, the Miami Heat find themselves just inside the Top 10 NBA Teams 2021-22 list. The Heat are led by Jimmy Butler who is averaging 23.6 points a game to go with 5.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per contest.

In addition to Butler, the team has seen Tyler Herro emerge as a legitimate threat as he has averaged 21.5 points a game to go with 5.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists. The Heat are allowing the sixth fewest amount of points within the NBA Eastern Conference while playing to an 8-5 record to start the 2021-22 NBA season.

  1. Utah Jazz

After coming out red hot to start the NBA season winning their first three contests, the Utah Jazz have won just five of their last ten contests including dropping back to back contests against the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers. Despite their struggles, the Jazz are sitting at 8-5 on the year while winning all five of their contests against Western Conference opponents.

Donovan Mitchell has been carrying the load leading the team averaging 25.6 points a game to go along with 4.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists per contests. On the year the Jazz rank 14th turnovers leading to their inconsistencies and struggles putting away wins.

  1. Cleveland Cavaliers

Possibly the biggest surprise of the NBA standings is the Cleveland Cavaliers who sit at fourth in the NBA Eastern Conference standings with a solid 9-5 overall record while posting a 6-2 record against teams within the conference.

The Cavaliers success has been led by the team’s defense which has allowed the fewest points within the NBA Eastern Conference and the second fewest points in the NBA at 101.3 points a game. With no real superstar, the Cavaliers have seen a team effort to start the season.

The team has six players averaging at least 12 points a game, four players averaging at least 5.9 rebounds and two players averaging at least 6.9 assists.

  1. Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls are slowly emerging as a team to beat within the NBA Eastern Conference after starting the season winning nine of their first 13 contests.

Much like the Cavaliers, the Bulls have seen their success show up due to their success on the defensive side of the floor as the team has allowed the second fewest points per game to start the season within the conference. The Bulls have used hot starts by DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine to help carry the load to start the season.

DeRozan, who joined the team during the off-season is averaging a team high 26.1 points a game to go with 5.6 rebounds and four assists. Meanwhile LaVine is averaging 25.9 points a game to go with 5.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists.

  1. Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks led by Luka Doncic has transformed into a team to beat within the Western Conference after winning eight of their first 12 contests to start the season. Despite their struggles on defense where the team is allowing more points per game (106.1) then they are scoring (104.5), the team has found ways to win contests to start the season.

The team’s All-Star Doncic is carrying the load averaging 25.1 points a game while averaging 8.3 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 1.3 steals per contest. The Mavericks have posted a 6-1 record to start the season against teams in the Western Conference.

  1. Denver Nuggets

Coming in just above the Mavericks on the Top 10 NBA Teams 2021-22 list is the Denver Broncos who sit third in the conference with a 9-4 overall record. The Nuggets success this season has come from their ability to shut down opposing offenses while limiting their opponents to a league low 98 points a game.

As the team has failed to see the past success of Michael Porter Jr, the team continues to see Nikola Jokic play at an MVP level as he has averaged 25.3 points a game to go along with 13.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists per contests.

  1. Washington Wizards

As the Cavaliers have been the biggest surprise, the Washington Wizards may be the second biggest surprise despite being one of the NBA Eastern Conference playoff teams just a year ago.

The Wizards entering Monday November 15th, 2021 tied with the Phoenix Suns with a 9-3 overall record and the second best overall record behind the Golden State Warriors.

The Wizards have seen Bradley Beal play at an All-Star level while new additions Montrezl Harrell, Spencer Dinwiddie, Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope all play at high levels to help transform the Wizards into a team to beat within the conference.

  1. Brooklyn Nets

The top team in the NBA Eastern Conference, the Brooklyn Nets have won 10 of their first 14 games this season despite not having former NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving suit up for one contest during the current season.

The Nets have seen Kevin Durant play like a true MVP to start the season as he has averaged 29.6 points a game to go along with 8.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists. Meanwhile the club has seen James Harden, LaMarcus Aldridge, Joe Harris and Patty Mills all average at least 10 points a game to start the season.

  1. Phoenix Suns

After an impressive 2020-21 NBA Season, the Phoenix Suns are right back at the top of the Western Conference to start the season trailing only the Golden State Warriors within the conference. The Suns have won nine of their first 12 games to start the season including posting an 8-2 overall record over their last 10 contests.

Much of their success has come on the offensive side of the ball where they are averaging the second most points per game within the conference. Devin Booker continues to shine averaging 22.4 points a game while six additional players are averaging at least 10 points on the year.

  1. Golden State Warriors

After injuries have derailed the success of the Golden State Warriors over the past few seasons, the club is finally healthy in 2021-22 and it has shown up with the teams impressive 11-2 overall start to the season.

The Warriors currently lead the NBA in points per game (115.1) and have allowed the second fewest points per game within the Western Conference (101.8). Despite not having Klay Thompson back yet, the team has seen Steph Curry return healthy and back to his MVP level to open the year. Curry is averaging 28.1 points a game to go with 6.2 rebounds and 6.7 assists.

In addition the team has seen both Andrew Wiggins (18.0 PPG) and Jordan Poole (17.2 PPG) play at a high level to start the season.
