Top 10 Women’s College Basketball Shooting Guards 2023 Rankings

Ranking the best Female NCAA Shooting Guards of 2023 with names such as Keishana Washington, Diamond Miller, Jordan Horston and more

The 2022-23 Women’s College Basketball schedule is slowly approaching the final few games of the regular season. With Conference Tournaments and the Women’s NCAA Basketball tournament set to tip off next month the excitement on the hardwood of women’s college basketball is as exciting as any basketball in the country.

As you start to look around at the top women’s shooting guards in all of college basketball the list is loaded with a ton of talent.

This includes the group of top tier shooting guards to land on the Top 10 NCAAW Shooting Guards 2023 Rankings list.

At the top of the list of the top shooting guards in all of women’s college basketball is the Drexel Dragons senior shooting guard Keishana Washington.

Washington is just one of many of the top tier women putting up big statistics this morning while ranking among the top scorers in college basketball.

Joining Washington on the list of the Top 10 NCAAW Shooting Guards include Hailey Van Lith of the Louisville Cardinals, Diamond Miller of the Maryland Terps, Leigha Brown of the Michigan Wolverines, and Taylor Mikesell of the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Each of these shooting guards are well deserving of a spot among the list while ranking among the best in the game today. Here is a look at the Top 10 NCAAW Shooting Guards 2023 Rankings.

Honorable Mention

Azzi Fudd

School: UConn Huskies

Just missing the Top 10 NCAAW Shooting Guards 2023 Rankings list is the UConn Huskies sophomore guard Azzi Fudd. Fudd, who the team has relied on earlier to start the season, has been strong all season for her team despite the team missing star point guard Paige Bueckers.

Nonetheless Fudd has played a key role in the teams 22-4 start to the season. The Arlington, Virginia native is currently averaging a career high 17.9 points per game this season including a player high 21.8 points at home this season. In addition to the scoring Fudd has averaged 1.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per contest.

In addition to those numbers the Huskies guard shot 43.3 percent from behind the three-point line this season to go along with 53.3 mark from the rest of the field.

Jaz Shelley

School: Nebraska Cornhuskers

The Nebraska Cornhuskers junior point guard has been solid this season for the team while posting back-to-back very strong seasons for the team.

Shelley is currently shooting 37.2 percent from the field to start the season while averaging 4.4 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game.

Shelley might be one of the best all around shooting guards who also focuses on her ability to find her teammate’s on any drive while sacrificing her own stat sheet for the better good of the team.

In addition, the Cornhuskers star was strong on the defensive end of the floor averaging 1.6 steals to go with nearly one blocked shot per game.

Top 10 Women’s College Shooting Guards

10. Charisma Osborne

School: UCLA Bruins

Coming in at number 10 on the Top 10 NCAAW Shooting Guards 2023 Rankings list is the UCLA Bruins senior guard Charisma Osborne.

Leadership, aggressiveness, and the will to play harder is key come March Madness time and something that can help push a team over the top.

That is exactly what you get with Charisma Osborne of the UCLA Bruins. The Bruins point guard can score, play defense while also running the team’s offense.

Osborne is currently averaging 15.5 points per game this season to go along with 5.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and a 38.1 field goal percentage.

On the defensive end of the floor Osborne is currently averaging 1.2 steals per game while also playing lock down defense. 

9. Charlisse Leger-Walker

School: Washington State Cougars

If you are looking for one of the most dynamic scoring shooting guards in all of college basketball look no farther than Charlisse Leger-Walker of the Washington State Cougars.

The Cougars junior guard is averaging a career high 37.1 percent shooting mark from behind the three-point line to go along with an overall field goal percentage mark of 41.5.

While scoring is at the tops of her list, Leger-Walker is also a strong rebounder and all-around great teammate while averaging 5.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game this season.

8. Jordan Horston

School: Tennessee Lady Volunteers

After going down with a serious injury last season to wrap up her season, Jordan Horston has returned with a vengeance this season while ranking among the games top shooting guards to start the season.

The Tennessee Lady Volunteers guard is currently averaging 15.5 points per game this season after averaging 16.2 points per game last season.

In addition to the scoring, Horston has averaged 6.6 rebounds per game to go along with 3.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per contests while nearly averaging one blocked shot per game.

7. Zia Cooke

School: South Carolina Gamecocks

After winning the Women’s National Championship last season and being the last team standing among March Madness, Zia Cooke is looking to lead the South Carolina Gamecocks on another deep run this season while looking to repeat as National Champions.

Overall Cooke has been solid this season averaging 14.9 points per game over her first 25 games this season against some of the best women’s basketball teams in the country.

In addition to the scoring, Cooke is averaging 1.4 rebounds on the year to go with 2.1 assists all while shooting 40.8 percent from the field of play over the course of the season.

6. Elena Tsineke

School: South Florida Bulls

At number six on the Top 10 NCAAW Shooting Guards 2023 Rankings list is the South Florida Bulls senior guard Elena Tsineke.

Tsineke who is playing in her final season is building a strong resume while potentially playing herself into consideration for the 2023 WNBA Draft.

The Bulls star shooting guard is currently averaging 17.3 points per game this season to go along with 3.8 rebounds, and three assists.

In addition, Tsineke has been strong all around the court while posting one steal per game and playing solid defense from start to finish.

5. Taylor Mikesell

School: Ohio State Buckeyes

Rounding out the top five on the Top 10 NCAAW Shooting Guards 2023 Rankings list is the Ohio State Buckeyes senior shooting guard Taylor Mikesell.

Mikesell is averaging 17.9 points per game this season while averaging 40.2 percent from behind the three-point line and an overall field goal percentage mark of 43.9 percent this season.

The Buckeyes shooting guard is also averaging 3.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.5 steals per contest for a talented team that is attempting to compete within the Big Ten conference.

4. Leigha Brown

School: Michigan Wolverines

When you start to look at the Big Ten conference and the top tier shooting guards within, the list is loaded with a group to include Taylor Mikesell of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Diamond Miller of the Maryland Terps.

Also joining them on the list is the talented Michigan Wolverines senior Leigha Brown. Brown is averaging 18 points per game this season to go along with 5.1 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. In addition, Brown is shooting 55.3 percent from the field across her first 24 games this season.

3. Diamond Miller

School: Maryland Terps

The Maryland Terps women’s basketball program is one of the best in the country while consistently finding top tier recruits.

One of those top tier recruits is the team’s senior point guard who has not disappointed since arriving at College Park back before the start of the 2019-20 Women’s basketball schedule Miller is averaging a career high 19.8 points per game this season while also adding 6.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.

On the defensive end of the floor Miller is as aggressive as any shooting guard averaging 1.4 blocked shots per game to go along with two steals per contest. 

2. Hailey Van Lith

School: Louisville Cardinals

Sliding in just behind Keishana Washington as the top overall shooting guard in the country is the Louisville Cardinals star shooting guard Hailey Van Lith.

Lith who is from Wenatchee, Washington is putting together the best season of her career this season while averaging a career high in points per game, assists per game, and steals per game. 

Van Lith is currently averaging 19.1 points per game to go along with 3.5 assists, 1.4 steals and 4.9 rebounds per game across 26 games played this season.

1. Keishana Washington

School: Drexel Dragons

In at number one on the Top 10 NCAAW Shooting Guards 2023 Rankings list is the Drexel Dragons senior shooting guard Keishana Washington. Washington is currently ranked 3rd in the country while averaging 26.9 points per game for the Dragons this season.

In addition to the 26 plus points per night, Washington has posted 4.2 assists per game to go along with 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals per contests this season.

Washington, who has averaged at least 10 points per game over the past four seasons, continues to be difficult to stop during the 2022-23 NCAA basketball schedule.
