Fantasy Football 2023 Season – Week 4

The 2023 NFL Season is off and running red hot as the NFL schedule rolls into week 4 of the season. As the action on the football field has been hot the fantasy football action has even been hotter as fantasy football owners and DFS football owners continue to cash in each week. With the schedule rolling into week 4 it is hard to look past the fantasy potential of the Miami Dolphins. They are leading the NFL in nearly every offensive statistic after coming off scoring 70 points. While both Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill are headliners, multiple others on the Dolphins roster are also strong candidates for week 4 fantasy football options while both of those stars landed among the Top 10 NFL Fantasy Football Draft Rankings Week 4 list.

As far as looking at the top fantasy football options Justin Jefferson slides back in at number one among the top fantasy football options this weekend. The Minnesota Vikings wide receiver has formed one of the top quarterback/wide receiver tandems in the NFL. They are making it nearly impossible for opposing defenses to slow them down.

As Jefferson is joined by the quarterback wide receiver tandem of Tagovailoa and Hill, the other two NFL fantasy studs on the Top 5 list includes tight end Travis Kelce and running back Christian McCaffrey. Here is a look at the Top 10 NFL Fantasy Draft Rankings Week 4:

Honorable Mention

Dameon Pierce

Team: Houston Texans

Position: Running Back
Fantasy Matchup: Indianapolis Colts

Landing just outside of the Top 10 NFL Fantasy Draft Rankings Week 4 is the Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce.

After the team struggled to get the offense rolling the first two weeks, the Texans came out ready to play last weekend while rookie quarterback CJ Stroud slowly got accustomed to the pace and speed of the NFL.

As Stroud continues to develop his passing game, the running game led by Dameon Pierce should continue to improve each week.

Lastly, the Texans running back has an ideal matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers in week 4 who have let up 395 total rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns to opposing running backs over the first three weeks of the season.

Stefon Diggs/Josh Allen

Team: Buffalo Bills

Position: Wide Receiver/Quarterback
Fantasy Matchup: Miami Dolphins

Stefon Diggs continues to be one of the top fantasy wide receivers each week while Josh Allen has dual threat abilities to add value both with passing and running numbers.

With the Buffalo Bills key showdown against a Miami Dolphins offense who has the ability to hang 70 points, the Bills offense should have a ton of opportunities to make plays.

Diggs enters week 4 of the 2023 NFL season ranked 8th in the NFL with 279 receiving yards. Unfortunately with only one touchdown reception.

Meanwhile the Dolphins offense has surrendered 766 passing yards on the season to opposing quarterbacks. Look for a strong game from the Bills quarterback wide receiver tandem while providing a strong fantasy football stack for DFS owners.

Top 10 NFL Fantasy Football Draft Rankings

10. Matthew Stafford

Team: Los Angeles Rams

Position: Quarterback
Fantasy Matchup: Indianapolis Colts

Coming in at number 10 on the Top 10 NFL Fantasy Football Rankings Week 4 list is the Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Despite throwing for just two touchdowns this season Stafford is still a strong fantasy option in week 4. He throwing for at least 307 yards in two of his first three games this season.

In week 4 Stafford will look to take advantage of an Indianapolis Colts defense that ranks among the worst in stopping the pass despite shutting down the Baltimore Ravens passing attack last weekend.

Nonetheless, the Colts defense has allowed the fourth most fantasy points to the quarterback position this season. They allowed quarterbacks to throw for 827 yards with four passing touchdowns.

9. Davante Adams

Team: Las Vegas Raiders

Position: Wide Reciever
Fantasy Matchup: Los Angeles Chargers

As the Las Vegas Raiders moved on to a new quarterback under center the chemistry is slowly building between Jimmy Garoppolo and All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams.

With this success Adams continues to be a must start fantasy wide receiver each week including in week 4 against a Los Angeles Chargers team that has surrendered the most fantasy points to the receiver position.

Through the first three games of the season the Chargers have allowed 47 total catches for 80 yards with six touchdown receptions. After seeing just 17 targets over his first two games, Adams was targeted a league high 20 times during week 3.

Nonetheless, the Las Vegas Raiders receiver pulled in 13 of those targets for 172 yards with two touchdowns. Look for that success to come again in week 4 against a bad Chargers secondary.

8. Justin Fields

Team: Chicago Bears

Position: Quarterback
Fantasy Matchup: Denver Broncos

One of the fantasy sleepers who might go under the radar this season based on his struggles at the quarterback position is Justin Fields.

While Fields is more a gamble type play for DFS owners looking to cash on GPP action, the Chicago Bears fan may add value to a team needing help at the quarterback position.

The Bears and Fields will take on a Denver Broncos defense that is coming off getting scorched by the Miami Dolphins during week 3.

While Fields has struggled his play making abilities both through the air and on the ground makes him an interesting fantasy play this weekend. The Broncos have allowed a league high nine passing touchdowns to go along with 875 total passing yards.

7. Kirk Cousins

Team: Minnesota Vikings

Position: Quarterback
Fantasy Matchup: Carolina Panthers

After landing among the top five with teammate Justin Jefferson, Kirk Cousins slides down the list a few spots this weekend.

The Minnesota Vikings quarterback is a strong option at the quarterback position this weekend. This is despite a difficult matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

Nonetheless as some fantasy owners may shy away from the NFL league leader in passing yards, this adds value for Cousins in DFS matchups as well. Cousins currently leads the NFL with 1,075 passing yards. He has completed 69.6% of his passes with a league high nine passing touchdowns.

6. Najee Harris

Team: Pittsburgh Steelers

Position: Running Back
Fantasy Matchup: Houston Texans

A new name landing among top fantasy football options for week 4 is the Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris. Harris is an interesting fantasy option entering the Steelers upcoming matchup against the Houston Texans.

A Texans defense that has surrendered the fourth most fantasy points to the running back position including five total rushing touchdowns to start the season.

The Steelers running back should have an opportunity to make plays on the ground while also being a part of the team’s passing attack against a Texans defense. Lastly, they allowed an average of five catches to running backs in each of their first three games of the season.

5. Christian McCaffrey

Team: San Francisco 49ers

Position: Running Back
Fantasy Matchup: Arizona Cardinals

Rounding out the Top 5 on the Top 10 NFL Fantasy Football Draft Rankings is Christian McCaffrey. Depending on the approach CMC is a must start in all season long fantasy leagues while also being a strong option in DFS action.

The San Francisco 49ers offense will look to take advantage of an Arizona Cardinals defense that has looked very bad at various points this season. Through three games the Cardinals have allowed 295 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown to the position.

However, the defense has struggled to stop running backs in the red zone within the passing attack allowing a league high three touchdown receptions to the position.

Nonetheless, McCaffrey currently leads the NFL with 353 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. Look for the 49ers running back to be more involved in the passing game this weekend.

4. Travis Kelce

Team: Kansas City Chiefs

Position: Tight End
Fantasy Matchup: Carolina Panthers

All the hype continues to build around Travis Kelce after singer Travis Kelce showed up at the Kansas City Chiefs week 3 matchup.

Nonetheless despite the hype and attention going into the action Kelce didn’t disappoint while the Chiefs offense was able to make plays against the Chicago Bears defense.

Kelce will look to build on his best receiving performance of the season. He’s added a third straight game with a touchdown reception.

Further with Patrick Mahomes under center, it is hard to look past Kelce as one of the top fantasy options at the tight end position each week.

3. Tua Tagovailoa

Miami Dolphins

Position: Quarterback
Fantasy Matchup: Buffalo Bills

The test will be a little stronger this week for the Miami Dolphins offense as they look to take on division rivals the Buffalo Bills on the road.

Entering the AFC East showdown, the Bills defense has ranked among the best in the NFL in points allowed and total yards allowed per game over the first three games of the season.

Nonetheless, it is hard to look past the Dolphins offense entering the week after coming off scoring 70 points against the Denver Broncos last weekend. Still, Tua has thrown for over 300 yards and two touchdowns in 2/3 games this season for the Dolphins.

2. Tyreek Hill

Team: Miami Dolphins

Position: Wide Receiver
Fantasy Matchup: Buffalo Bills

The Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills showdown is shaping up to be one of the most exciting matchups of the weekend.

With a head to head against fellow All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs, Tyreek Hill will look to continue his early season success while continuing to produce for his fantasy football owners.

Hill is currently ranked second in the NFL in yards with 412. He’s trailing only Justin Jefferson while leading the NFL with four total touchdown receptions.

The Dolphins will look to get the football in Hill’s hand early while helping to open up the team’s rushing attack. Hill has been targeted at least nine times in each of the three Dolphins games this season. This includes two games with at least 11.

1. Justin Jefferson

Team: Minnesota Vikings

Position: Wide Receiver
Fantasy Matchup: Carolina Panthers

In the end it is just impossible to avoid using Justin Jefferson each week despite opposing defenses game planning for him all week.

The Minnesota Vikings wide receiver currently leads all wide receivers with 458 receiving yards over the first three weeks of the season. Even more impressive is Jefferson has posted at least 149 yards in each contest. He’s catched no fewer than seven passes in each game while being targeted at least 12 times over that stretch.

Add in the added value of having a passing quarterback like Kirk Cousins throwing the football increases Jefferson’s value again in week 4. Despite a potential difficult matchup against the Carolina Panthers, Jefferson should continue to produce at the receiver position.
