The 2021 NFL schedule delivered fireworks from the opening kickoff of the first game of the 2021 NFL schedule to the final play of the Super Bowl.

As you begin to look around the NFL, one thing is for certain and that is teams with great NFL coaches all continue to rank near the top teams in the NFL year in and year out.

Outside a few new coaches to make the list, the majority of the NFL coaches landing on the Top 10 NFL Head Coaches 2022 rankings list are consistent winners.

Of the 10 NFL coaches landing on the list six of the seven as well as Mike Tomlin who just missed the Top 10 coaches in the NFL have led their teams to at least one Super Bowl title.

One notable name to miss the list who was also well deserving of a mention is the Baltimore Ravens head coach who almost guided his team to the playoffs despite losing both of their starting running backs, both All-Pro cornerbacks and even their MVP quarterback.

Joining the list of the NFL Head Coach Rankings includes Mike Vrabel of the Tennessee Titans, Sean McVay of the Los Angeles Rams and even Zac Taylor of the Cincinnati Bengals. With that said, here is our list of the Top 10 NFL Coaches 2022 Rankings.

Honorable Mention

Mike Tomlin

Team: Pittsburgh Steelers

2021 Record: 9-7
Playoff Record: 0-1

Just missing the cut on the Top 10 NFL Coaches 2022 rankings list is the Pittsburgh Steelers long time head coach Mike Tomlin.

Tomlin who has helped guide the Steelers to one Super Bowl title as well as setting the record of having his team not record a losing season in his 15 seasons as head coach.

He performed another miracle during the 2021 NFL season during a year many had the Steelers missing the playoffs. However, Tomlin and the Steeler managed to post a 9-7 record and land one of the wild card spots.

Rich Bisaccia

Team: Las Vegas Raiders

2021 Record: 7-5
Playoff Record: 0-0

Another NFL head coach or shall we say interim head coach that is well worth consideration as one of the best 10 NFL coaches during the 2021 NFL season is Rich Bisaccia.

Bisaccia who landed the interim head coaching job of the Las Vegas Raiders after the messy situation led to the dismissal of former head coach Jon Gruden.

Nonetheless, Bisaccia stepped in, kept the players playing and finished winning four straight games to deliver him an overall 7-5 record and a playoff spot as one of the wild card teams.

Top 10 NFL Coaches

10. Bill Belichick

Team: New England Patriots

2021 Record: 10-7
Playoff Record: 0-0

All Bill Belichick does as the head coach of the New England Patriots is lead his team to wins nearly each year.

After a disastrous 2020 NFL season, Belichick got back to work assembling a remodeled Patriots team along with rookie quarterback Mac Jones under center. A few short months later, the Patriots had finished winning 10 of 17 games and earning a wild card spot in a very difficult AFC conference.

In the year the Patriots outscored their opponents by 159 total points while the team ranked second in fewest points allowed (289) in the NFL.

9. Kliff Kingsbury

Team: Arizona Cardinals

2021 Record: 11-6
Playoff Record: 0-0

The former NFL quarterback and Texas Tech Red Raiders star took over an Arizona Cardinals team looking to make it back to the playoffs.

That is exactly what he did in year three as the head coach after posting a .500 record with an 8-8 NFL season, Kliff Kingsbury with Kyler Murray under center went 11-6 on the year while finishing behind the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West division.

The 11 wins were the fourth most wins in the AFC and good enough to lock up one of the three wild card positions. Despite the strong season, the Los Angeles Rams would knock them out in the first round of the playoffs.

8. Mike McCarthy

Team: Dallas Cowboys

2021 Record: 12-5
Playoff Record: 0-0

Coming in at number eight on the Top 10 NFL Coaches 2021-2022 rankings list is the Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy.

While drama swirled during the off-season and many fans and experts calling for McCarthy to lose his job, the longtime veteran head coach who coached the Green Bay Packers to a Super Bowl Championship had Dallas win 12 of 17 contests during the regular season while scoring the most points in the NFL over the course of the 2021 NFL schedule.

7. Sean McDermott

Team: Buffalo Bills

2021 Record: 11-6
Playoff Record: 2-1

After playing second fiddle to the New England Patriots over the years, Sean McDermott finally has the Buffalo Bills atop the AFC East division.

In addition, with Josh Allen at quarterback and a very talented team on both sides of the ball, the Bills are one of the premier teams in the entire AFC conference.

This was demonstrated during the 2021 NFL season after the Bills posted an 11-6 record, won the AFC East conference, and allowed the fewest amount of points (289) and outscored their opponents (+194) more than any other team in the NFL.

6. Matt LaFleur

Team: Green Bay Packers

2021 Record: 13-4
Playoff Record: 1-1

The Green Bay Packers head coach has been as good as nearly any head coach on this list and could have possibly landed higher had he and the team performed better in the Playoffs.

Since taking over the Packers, Matt LaFleur has led the team to a 39-10 overall record but just a 2-3 record. That same struggle appeared last season after he helped the Packers win a season high 13 games and secure the top overall spot in the NFC.

To go along with this, he was able to do this after all the off-season drama with future Hall of Fame quarterback.

5. Bruce Arians

Team: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

2021 Record: 13-4
Playoff Record: 1-1

Coming in at number five on the Top 10 NFL Coaches 2021-22 rankings list is the now retired head coach Bruce Arians. While he stepped away from the head coaching position, Arians will remain with the organization.

After leading the Tampa Buccaneers to the Super Bowl title during the 2020 NFL season, Arians and the Buccaneers would go on to win a season high 13 games and make a second straight NFL playoff appearance and nearly a second straight Super Bowl appearance had it not been for the late game heroics of the Los Angeles Rams.

4. Andy Reid

Team: Kansas City Chiefs

2021 Record: 12-5
Playoff Record: 2-1

If you are a fan of the NFL, you will remember all the noise being made about the struggles of the Kansas City Chiefs offense, the difficult stretch of play from Patrick Mahomes and many were wondering if Andy Reid’s time had worn off.

This drama and talk lasted much of the season, however the Chiefs still finished tied for the best record in the AFC at 12-5. This success came after the team was dismantled by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the previous Super Bowl. Nonetheless, Reid went back to work rebuilding the offensive line and it rewarded them.

3. Zac Taylor

Team: Cincinnati Bengals

2021 Record: 10-7
Playoff Record: 0-0

After the type of season the Cincinnati Bengals head and the run through the NFL Playoffs to the Super Bowl, Zac Taylor is well deserving of a spot as one of the best NFL coaches during the 2021 NFL season.

While many expected the Bengals to take a step forward from the 4-11-1 record in 2020, but nearly anyone seeing them rise to the top of the AFC North and dethrone a Super Bowl contender in the Baltimore Ravens.

That said, the Bengals achieved that by going 5-1 in the conference sweeping the Ravens and put together a brilliant offensive performance all season long.

2. Sean McVay

Team: Los Angeles Rams

2021 Record: 12-5
Playoff Record: 1-1

While the Los Angeles Rams took home the Super Bowl title, Sean McVay still landed just at number two as one of the best NFL coaches last season.

When you look at the roster the Rams had constructed, it is easy to see how the team won the Super Bowl. That said, McVay still deserves a ton of credit after moving on to a new quarterback after acquiring Matt Stafford and keeping the offense flowing all season.

The Rams finished the season 12-5 and used late game heroics against both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship game and the Cincinnati Bengals in the Super bowl.

1. Mike Vrabel

Team: Tennessee Titans

2021 Record: 12-5
Playoff Record: 0-1

In at the top spot on the Top 10 NFL Coaches 2022 rankings list is the Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel. After losing the NFL’s top running back who the Titans have built their entire offense around, the team did not lose a beat and Vrabel kept the team rolling as one of the best teams in the NFL.

Despite not having Derrick Henry, the Titans pulled out three clutch wins to end the season earning them the best record in the AFC, a Playoff bye and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

In the end the Titans would get knocked off in the playoffs, but his performance still earned him the 2021 NFL Coach of the Year award.
