The NFL action is heating up on the football field while the play of the Top NFL Players continues to take center stage each week.

As you start to look around the best players in the NFL, many great performances have been turned in to start the 2022 NFL schedule, while the top stars continue to build on their already impressive NFL resumes.

Headlining the Top 10 NFL Players 2022 rankings Week 7 October list is the Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

Allen has gotten off to another impressive performance while leading the Bills to a 5-1 start to begin the season including multiple wins against top tier teams including the Kansas City Chiefs. 

Joining Allen on the list of the Top NFL players to start the 2022 NFL season are three other quarterbacks playing at a high-level including Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens, Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles, and Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs. Lamar Jackson

When it comes to the most explosive player in the entire National Football League, that award would go to the Baltimore Ravens quarterback and former NFL MVP Lamar Jackson. Jackson continues to be a dual side threat who can beat teams with both his arm and his legs.

However, despite starting the season off in MVP form, Jackson as well as the Ravens entire offense has struggled of late including in the fourth quarter of football games.

Nonetheless, Jackson currently ranks 3rd among all NFL quarterbacks in touchdown passes (13), 5th in total rushing yards (451), and 11th in rating (93.2). 

Maxx Crosby

Another top tier NFL player just missing the Top 10 NFL Players 2022 rankings October list is the Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby.

Crosby continues to play at a high level while performing as one of the best defensive players on the Oakland Raiders roster.

Crosby has racked up six sacks over the teams first five games while currently sitting tied for 2nd among all NFL sack leaders in 2022.

To go along with the six sacks, Crosby has recorded 31 total tackles, one forced fumble, one pass defended, and 10 total stuffs.

10. Saquon Barkley

Team: New York Giants

In at number 10 on the Top 10 NFL Players 2022 rankings October list is the New York Giants star running back Saquon Barkley.

Barkley, who has been a special football player since his days with the Penn State Nittany Lions, is slowly turning in one of the best offensive performances among all running backs.

The New York Giants running back currently ranks 2nd in the NFL in rushing yards (616), 5th in total first down runs (23), 5th in touchdown runs (4) while also adding 155 yard receiving. 

9. Jalen Hurts

Team: Philadelphia Eagles

One of the most impressive performances among the quarterback positions is the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Hurts, who has guided the Eagles to the best record in the NFL after starting the season with six straight wins, has made big plays with both his arm and legs.

Hurts currently ranks 8th in the NFL in passing yards (1,514), 7th in QBR (59.6), and has thrown the second fewest number of interceptions (2). Hurts has also been solid on the ground adding 293 rushing yards to go along with six rushing touchdowns.

8. Jordan Poyer

If you are looking for game changers on the defensive side of the football one player to mention is the Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer. Poyer is a pure game changer who can change the outcome of the game on nearly any play.

As the Bills have been dominant on the defensive side of the ball, Poyer has been a key player among the team’s defensive unit. Entering week 7, the Bills safety who has played in just four games this season has recorded a league high four interceptions (4) to go along with six passes defended.

7. Tariq Woolen

Landing just ahead of one of the NFL’s top safeties is one of the up-and-coming young cornerbacks in the NFL Tariq Woolen.

Woolen who was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the 5th round of the 2022 NFL draft has played as one of the top NFL rookies this season.

The Seahawks cornerback is tied with Poyer for the NFL lead with four interceptions while returning one of those interceptions for a touchdown.

To go along with the interceptions, Woolen has recorded five passes defended, two fumble recoveries, and 22 total tackles.

6. Tyreek Hill

The NFL is loaded with a ton of talent at the wide receiver position including the likes of Stefon Diggs, Ja’Marr Chase, and Tyreek Hill.

Despite injury concerns at the quarterback position while also sharing statistics with stud wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, Hill currently ranks 1st in the NFL in receiving yards through the first six weeks posting 701 yards on 50 receptions.

The Miami Dolphins Wide receiver is tied for the NFL lead in big plays of 20 plus yards with 11 and tied for 3rd with 31 catches for first downs.

5. Alex Highsmith

Team: Pittsburgh Steelers

Rounding out the top 5 NFL players on the Top 10 NFL Players 2022 rankings October list is the Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Alex Highsmith.

While all expected teammate T.J. Watt to rank among the top performers, an injury has knocked him out for most of the season while his teammate Highsmith has capitalized on the opportunity. 

Highsmith currently leads the NFL with 6.5 sacks to start the season while also adding 26 tackles, one pass defended and two forced fumbles in the team’s first six games.

4. Stefon Diggs

NFL MVP Race Odds: +20000

Team: Buffalo Bills

When it comes to the top two wide receivers in the NFL both are well deserving of a top five spot, however Stefon Diggs lands at number four.

Diggs, who is the key weapon in the Buffalo Bills passing attack, lacks a second top tier receiver that many of the other top tier wide receivers have in the NFL.

Currently Diggs ranks 2nd in the NFL in receiving yards on the year with 656 yards, 2nd in the NFL in touchdown receptions with six, and tied for 3rd with eight plays of at least 20 yards or more. The Bills receiver has helped the team rank near the top as one of the top offenses in the NFL.

3. Nick Chubb

Team: Cleveland Browns

All the off-season drama surrounding the Cleveland Browns team has not slowed down the production of Nick Chubb to start the season.

In addition, Chubb has been one of the top running backs in the entire NFL all without having Pro Bowl quarterback Deshaun Watson under center.

Nonetheless, Chubb currently leads the NFL with 649 rushing yards and rushing touchdowns with seven while also averaging nearly six yards per carry (5.9). On the year Chubb has posted seven runs of at least 20 yards while picking up 29 total first downs.

2. Patrick Mahomes

Team: Kansas City Chiefs

At number two on the top NFL players rankings list for October 2022 is the Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

While concerns were presented after the loss of star wide receiver Tyreek Hill during the off-season, Mahomes has put to bed any concerns with his strong start of the season.

Currently Mahomes ranks 3rd in passing yards (1,736), tied for 1st in touchdown passes (1), and 3rd in QBR (75.4). In addition, his play at the position has propelled the Chiefs to a 4-2 record to start the season.

1. Josh Allen

As the league is filled with top tier stars, Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills lands at the top of the Top 10 NFL Players 2022 rankings October list after his strong play and his team’s performance. 

The Bills starting quarterback lands atop nearly every passing statistic while ranking with some of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.

Currently Allen leads all quarterbacks in passing yards (1,980), tied for first in touchdown passes (17) and 2nd in quarterback rating (109.1). Allen has also added 257 yards on the ground to go with two rushing touchdowns.
