The start of the 2022 National Football League season is just around the corner as the 2022 NFL preseason has concluded. As teams set their roster and position for a run at a chance to win the Super Bowl, the opportunity to look at the best players around the NFL has arrived.

As you look at the long list of talented NFL players, the list of deserving candidates to land on the Top 10 NFL Players Preview 2022 Rankings list is long. However only 10 NFL players can land on the list.

At the top of the list is a quarterback duo that rank among two of the Greatest Quarterbacks of All-Time. Those two quarterbacks are future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers and Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In addition to Rodgers and Brady, the list of the Top NFL Players includes Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams, TJ Watt of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Cooper Kupp of the Los Angeles Rams. Here is a look at the Top 10 NFL Players MVP Rankings 2022 Preview:

Honorable Mention

Jonathan Taylor

Team: Indianapolis Colts

Landing just outside of the Top 10 NFL Players Preview 2022 rankings list is the Indianapolis Colts All-Pro running back Jonathan Taylor.

While the debate could be made that he warrants a spot among the best players in the NFL, the slight advantage is handed to Derrick Henry of the Tennessee Titans.

Despite that Taylor is coming off an impressive 1,811 rushing yard performance to go along with 18 rushing touchdowns. Taylor led all running backs in attempts, yards, rushing touchdowns, and ranked 5th in yards per carry (5.5 YPC).

Josh Allen

Team: Buffalo Bills

This was a hard one as both Josh Allen and Jonathan Taylor are worthy of a spot inside of the Top 10 players in the NFL.

That said, Allen lands on the outside looking in but another strong campaign in 2022 should have him among the games best.

The Buffalo Bills quarterback is coming off his second straight season with at least 4,400 yards passing and 36 touchdown passes thrown.

To go along with those numbers, Allen added a career high 763 rushing yards to go along with six rushing touchdowns.

Top 10 NFL Players

10. Derrick Henry

Team: Tennessee Titans

Despite missing nine games during the 2021 NFL Schedule with a foot injury, Derrick Henry still ranked in the Top 10 among running backs in attempts (219), rushing yards (937), and rushing touchdowns (10).

Prior to his injury, Henry was on pace for nearly 2,000 yards rushing and 20 rushing touchdowns.

While his return to his previous ability might not occur, it will take a down year to push Henry outside of the Top 10 players in the NFL.

9. Travis Kelce

Team: Kansas City Chiefs

Arguably the best tight end in the NFL or in the debate with other top tight ends such as Greg Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers and Mark Andrews of the Baltimore Ravens.

As the Kansas City Chiefs will look to rely more on Kelce more with Tyreek Hill gone, the team’s star tight end is coming off his sixth straight season with at least 1,000 yards receiving.

In addition, it was the four time in five years Kelce had racked up at least eight touchdown receptions and at least 90 plus catches. Another strong season during the 2022 NFL schedule and Kelce should be able to join the 10,000 receiving yard club.

8. Jalen Ramsey

Team: Los Angeles Rams

Landing at number eight on the Top 10 NFL Players Preview 2022 rankings list is the Los Angeles Rams All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

Ramsey continues to be a shutdown cornerback while matching up against nearly any other team’s number one receiver.

The Rams cornerback is coming off a four-interception season to go along with 16 passes defended and 62 tackles while being a key component of the team’s success.

7. Davante Adams

Team: Las Vegas Raiders

New team, same results? That is the expectation as Davante Adams moves on to Vegas to teammate up with his former college teammate Derek Carr for the Las Vegas Raiders.

While the debate can be made, he won’t have Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball. The honest opinion is that anyone as good as Adams will continue to produce with nearly any quarterback.

Adams is coming off 123 catch, 1,553 receiving yards and 11 touchdown season while ranking inside the top five among all receivers in each of those categories.

6. Patrick Mahomes

Team: Kansas City Chiefs

A new season brings on more challenges for the former NFL MVP, but those challenges should slow down Patrick Mahomes.

One of those challenges will be finding a new speedy receiver to throw the ball to as Hill has moved on to a new team.

That said, Mahomes has the vision and arm strength to get nearly any receiver involved in the offense. Across 17 games during the 2021 NFL season, Mahomes threw for 4,839 yards to go along with 37 touchdown passes and 381 yards rushing with two rushing touchdowns.

5. T.J. Watt

Team: Pittsburgh Steelers

Coming in at number five on the Top 10 NFL Players Preview 2022 rankings list is the Pittsburgh Steelers Defensive Player of the Year (DPOY) T.J. Watt.

Watt was nearly impossible to slow down, and it showed within the statistics. Watt finished last season with a career high 22.5 sacks to go along with 21 tackles for a loss, three fumbles recovered and five forced fumbles.

His production on the field earned him his third All-Pro award over the past three NFL seasons. Thankfully the injury he suffered recently is not too serious.

4. Cooper Kupp

Team: Los Angeles Rams

It’s nearly impossible to find any offensive player that means as much to their offense as Cooper Kupp does for his Los Angeles Rams team.

Kupp is a crafty speedy route runner who can make any player miss on any tackle. His ability to make plays happen showed up all season as well as within the playoffs and in the team’s Super Bowl win.

Kupp took home the receiving triple crown leading all receivers in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947), and touchdown receptions (64).

3. Aaron Donald

Team: Los Angeles Rams

When it comes to defensive players Aaron Donald is one of the best players to play on the defensive side of the ball in the history of the NFL.

Donald made play after play including securing the win in Super Bowl LVI by putting a ton of pressure on Joe Burrow.

Over the 17 game NFL season, Donald posted 12.5 total sacks to go along with four forced fumbles and 19 tackles for a loss.

The strong performance on the defensive side of the football landed Donald his seventh straight All-Pro selection.

2. Tom Brady

Team: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

You could have easily decided to flip flop Tom Brady for Aaron Rodgers as each quarterback continues to be at the top of their game while still being ranked as an elite quarterback.

Nonetheless, Brady lands at number two after leading the NFL in both passing yards with 5,316 and passing touchdowns with 43.

The 5,316 passing yards were a career high while he also topped the 5,000 yard for the second time over his long 22 NFL career.

In addition, the 43 passing touchdowns marked the third time and second straight season the future Hall of Famer threw for at least 40 interceptions.

1. Aaron Rodgers

Team: Green Bay Packers

While the Green Bay Packers future Hall of Fame quarterback did not lead quarterbacks in key passing metrics such as passing yards and passing touchdowns, he did however lead in multiple other statistics.

Those statistics included throwing the fewest interceptions in the NFL with only four interceptions all season and an NFL high 69.1 QBR mark.

In all Rodgers finished the season throwing for 4,115 passing yards, 37 passing touchdowns, four interceptions and that 69.1 passing rating.
