The high explosive offensive style of play across the National Football League has helped increase the value of the wide receiver while also showcasing the importance of having an elite receiver on your roster.

With this increase, we have seen a surge in salary contracts for wide receivers following the 2021-2022 NFL schedule with multiple receivers landing $100 million plus contracts.

However, as we wait to see what receivers put up big numbers in 2022, the opportunity to answer the question is “who is the #1 wide receiver in the NFL” was during the 2021 season.

To answer that question the debate could be made for a wide range of the receivers around the NFL to even include a rookie who put together a monster season together.

The group of wide receivers include the likes of the 2021 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year winner Jamar Chase as well as Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp.

In addition, the list of the best NFL wide receivers includes Davante Adams, Deebo Samuel, Stefon Diggs, and Tyreek Hill to name a few.

With that said, here is our list of the Top 10 NFL Wide Receiver Rankings of the 2021-2022 season

Honorable Mention

DJ Moore

Team: Carolina Panthers

2021 Stats: 93 REC, 1,157 YDS, 4 TD, 12.4 AVG

Coming in just outside of the Top 10 NFL Wide Receiver 2021-22 rankings list is the Carolina Panthers wide receiver D.J. Moore.

Moore, who played his college football for the Maryland Terps, has become a household name in the Panthers organization while also showcasing his abilities as one of the top NFL wide receivers.

Moore, who lacked a top tier quarterback like many of these other receivers, still managed to top the 1,157-yard receiving mark while also catching 93 passes and four touchdown receptions.

Mike Williams

Team: Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers

2021 Stats: 76 REC, 1,146 YDS, 9 TD, 15.1 AVG

Possibly one of the most explosive offenses in the entire NFL, the Los Angeles Rams passing attack led by Justin Herbert and receiving corps to include both Mike Williams and Keenan Allen ranks up near the top.

Williams, drafted seventh overall during the 2017 NFL draft set career highs in receptions (76), receiving yards (1,146), and targets (129) while also catching nine touchdown grabs. His performance ranks him in the top 12 in yards, touchdowns, and yards per catch among all NFL receivers.

Now with the Los Angeles Chargers he doesn’t look to slow down with Justin Herbert at the helm.

Top 10 NFL Wide Receivers

10. Tyler Lockett

Team(s): Seattle Seahawks

2021 Stats: 73 REC, 1,175 YDS, 8 TD, 16.1 AVG

Landing at number ten on the Top 10 NFL Wide Receiver 2021-22 rankings list is the Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett.

Lockett who lands just behind his teammate D.K. Metcalf ranked eighth among all NFL wide receivers in yards during the 2021 NFL season with 1,225 total yards.

In addition, Locket also caught 10 touchdown passes while averaging 16.1 yards per catch.

9. D.K. Metcalf

Team(s): Seattle Seahawks

2021 Stats: 75 REC, 967 YDS, 12 TD, 12.9 AVG

You can call him the freak, you can call him super man and you can even call him by his name D.K. Metcalf.

In the end they all stack up well for the Seattle Seahawks wide receiver who is as dominant as any wide receiver in the NFL and one that has no problem making a big play despite being double and triple teamed during passing plays.

Metcalf finished the 2021 NFL schedule with 967 receiving yards to go along with the fourth most touchdown receptions (12).

8. Mike Evans

Team(s): Tampa Bay Buccaneers

2021 Stats: 74 REC, 1,035 YDS, 14 TD, 14.0 AVG

One receiver that ranks among the best wide receivers in the NFL is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers star wide receiver Mike Evans.

Evans, who entered the NFL after being selected in round one of the 2014 NFL draft, posted another strong season in 2021 topping the 1,000 plus yard mark for the eighth straight season.

Evans has not posted below 1,000 receiving yards in any of his eight seasons in the NFL. The Buccaneers star also added 14 touchdown receptions and 56 catches for first down while being a prime weapon for Tom Brady.

7. Stefon Diggs

Team(s): Buffalo Bills

2021 Stats: 103 REC, 1,225 YDS, 10 TD, 11.9 AVG

At number seven on the Top 10 NFL Wide Receiver 2021-22 rankings list is another former Maryland Terps wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

Diggs who started his career with the Minnesota Vikings has become a household name within the Buffalo Bills organization while also being considered as one of the best NFL wide receivers.

That success continued during the 2021 NFL schedule as Diggs pulled in 103 catches for 1,225 receiving yards to go along with 10 touchdown receptions.

Diggs ranked ninth in receptions, eighth in receiving yards and sixth in touchdown receptions.

6. Justin Jefferson

Team(s): Minnesota Vikings

2021 Stats: 108 REC, 1,616 YDS, 10 TD, 15.0 AVG

How can you not like the Minnesota Vikings wide receiver as one of the top players at his position during the 2021-22 NFL season.

Justin Jefferson finished inside of the top 6 in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown receptions.

The LSU Tigers wide receiver finished last season with 108 total receptions to go along with 1,616 receiving yards and 10 touchdown receptions.

In addition, Jefferson averaged 15 yards per catch and moved the chains on 75 of his 108 catches.

5. Tyreek Hill

Team(s): Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins

2021 Stats: 111 REC, 1,239 YDS, 9 TD, 11.2 AVG

The cheetah is one of the most explosive wide receivers in the NFL and one that can take it to the house on any play.

Despite facing double coverage and safeties over the top during most of the 2021 NFL season, Tyreek Hill still managed to be one of the most explosive wide receivers among the National Football League.

Hill would go on to surpass the 1,100 receiving yard mark for the fourth time with 1,239 yards. The Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro wide receiver would also finish with a career high 111 catches to go along with nine touchdown receptions.

Tyreek Hill is now a member of the Miami Dolphins and we wonder if I can still put these numbers up in a Dolphins offense.

4. Ja’Marr Chase

Team(s): Cincinnati Bengals

2021 Stats: 81 REC, 1,455 YDS, 13 TD, 18.0 AVG

Ja’Marr Chase made a name for himself during his rookie season as he positioned himself as one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.

Chase, who was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals during the 2021 NFL draft, finished the season with 81 catches to go along with 1,455 receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns.

In addition to those impressive numbers at wide receiver, Chase also added an average yard per catch of 18 ranked second among all receivers to go along with 56 first downs.

The Bengals receiver also finished tied for fourth with 22 plays of at least 20 plus yards.

3. Deebo Samuel

Team(s): San Francisco 49ers

2021 Stats: 77 REC, 1,405 YDS, 6 TD, 18.2 AVG

A jack of all trades, Deebo Samuel of the San Francisco 49ers is a dual threat wide receiver who can not only make plays catching the ball but also at the running back position.

Samuel finished the 2021 season with 23 catches of at least 20 yards while finishing with 1,405 receiving yards, six touchdown receptions and 77 receptions.

In addition, Samuel also added 365 rushing yards to go along with eight rushing touchdowns.

2. Davante Adams

Team(s): Green Bay Packers, Las Vegas Raiders

2021 Stats: 123 REC, 1,553 YDS, 11 TD, 12.6 AVG

When it comes down to the top two receivers on the Top 10 NFL Wide Receiver 2021-2022 rankings list both Davante Adams and Cooper Kupp make a strong case for the top spot.

Nonetheless, Adams lands at number two based on a strong 2021 season where the former Green Bay Packers receiver posted 123 total catches for 1,553 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.

Even more impressive, Adams ranked second in receptions, third in yards and fifth in touchdown receptions all while appearing in just 16 games.

1. Cooper Kupp

Team(s): Los Angeles Rams

2021 Stats: 145 REC, 1,947 YDS, 16 TD, 13.4 AVG

In the end, Cooper Kupp can easily be slotted in as the NFL top wide receiver during the 2021-2022 NFL season.

Kupp finished the season with the Triple Crown of receiving statistics that was nearly impossible to stop on the defensive side of the ball.

The Los Angeles Rams receiver finished with 145 receptions to go along with 1,947 receiving yards and 16 touchdown receptions.

His play wouldn’t stop during the regular season as his heroics also helped him take home the Super Bowl MVP while leading his team to the Super Bowl trophy.
