Top 10 Middleweight Boxers – November 2021 Rankings

Ranking the best Middleweight boxers in the world after Demetrius Andrade successfully remained undefeated and retained his WBO Welterweight Championship

There has been some movement in the Middleweight Boxing Rankings. There is a lot of talent in the middleweight division, and ranking the top ten can be difficult, therefore, here are some honorable mentions.

 

 

Honorable Mention

Maciej Sulęcki

Maciej Sulęcki is a Polish professional boxer, with a record of 29-2, and 11 of his victories are by way of knockout. He also challenged for the WBO middleweight title in 2019.

Rob “Bravo” Brant

Rob “Bravo” Brant also deserves an honorable mention, he is an American professional boxer, with a record of 26-2, and he is the former WBA (Regular) middleweight champion.

Erislandy Lara

Title(s): WBA Regular Welterweight Champion

Erislandy Lara is a Cuban American boxer, with a professional record of 28 wins, 3 losses, and 3 draws. He is also the current WBA (Regular) middleweight champion. He is a very accomplished boxer, but he fought at light-middleweight until his most recent fight. So, where he doesn’t make the rankings, he does deserve an honorable mention.

Top 10 Middleweights

  1. Felix Cash

Felix Cash is an undefeated professional boxer from England, and he has a record of 14 wins and no losses. 

He has won multiple regional titles including the WBC International Silver middleweight title, and the  Commonwealth middleweight title, which he has defeated three times, and still holds. 

In his most recent fight, he defeated  Denzel Bentley via TKO and won the British middleweight title as well. As of now, there is no official announcement about his next fight.

  1. Liam Williams

Williams is a Welsh professional boxer, and he is the number 8 pick for our list. He has a record of 23 wins, 3 losses,  and 1 draw, 18 knockouts

He is the former British middleweight champion and has also held the WBC Silver middleweight title and WBO Inter-Continental middleweight title. 

In his last fight, he challenged Demetrius Andrade for the WBO middleweight title a couple of days ago, however, he came short and lost via a UD in the 12th round. Williams was scheduled to fight Chris Eubank Jr. on December 11th, 2021 but Williams pulled out due to injury.

  1. Chris Eubank Jr.

Chris “Next Gen” Eubank is a very exciting boxer from Britain, and he makes it in at number 9 on our list. The 31 years old boxer has a record of 31 wins and only 2 losses, with 22 knockouts. 

In 2015 he defeated Dmitry Chudinov to win the WBA interim middleweight title, which he also defended once. Eubank is also a two-time IBO super-middleweight champion. His most recent fight was against Wanik Awdijan, which Eubank won via corner retirement after the 5th found.

For his next fight, Chris Eubank Jr. was to fight Liam Williams on December 11, 2021 but Williams pulled out due to injury.

  1. Janibek Alimkhanuly

Fighting out of Kazakhstan, Janibek Alimkhanuly is an undefeated boxer with a record of 11 wins and 0 losses. 

As an amateur, he won the 2013 world and Asian championships and he has also held multiple regional titles in the professional ranks. In 2019, he won the  WBC Continental Americas and WBO Global middleweight titles and has defended both titles 4 times. 

He won his last fight against Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam, and as of now, there is no official announcement about his next fight.

  1. Ryota Murata

Title(s): WBA Super Middleweight Champion

The next fighter on our list is from Japan. Ryota Murata is an incredible boxer and the current WBA (Super) middleweight champion. He has a record of 16-2, with 13 KO victories. 

He won the WBA (Regular) middleweight title in 2017 after defeating Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam, he defended the title once, before losing it to Rob Brant in 2018. However, in a rematch, he won back the title and has since defended it once against Steven Butler. 

Murata was then promoted to the WBA (Super) middleweight, which he will defend against Gennady Golovkin on December 29 in Japan.

  1. Sergiy Derevyanchenko

Sergiy “The Technician” Derevyanchenko is a very exciting boxer from Ukraine. He has a record of 13 wins and 3 losses, 10 of which are KOs. 

Derevyanchenko has still to win a world title, he has fought for world titles three times, but lost all of them. He also challenged Gennady Golovkin for the vacant IBF and IBO middleweight titles in 2019. 

His last fight was against Jermall Charlo for the WBC middleweight title, but he came short in that one as well and lost via UD. Although Derevyanchenko hasn’t won a title, you can say that he has fought the best of the best in the division. 

For his next fight, he will face Carlos Adames on December 5, 2021

  1. Jaime Munguia

Jaime Munguia has one of the most impressive records in the division. He is undefeated with a record of 38 wins and no losses, 30 of which have come by way of knockout. 

Munguia has fought at light-middleweight for most of his career and is also the former WBO light-middleweight champion, a title which he defended 5 times before moving to middleweight. 

Munguia is currently the WBO Inter-Continental middleweight champion, and in his most recent fight, he defeated Gabriel Rosado via unanimous decision. His next fight has not been announced yet.

  1. Demetrius Andrade

Title(s): WBO Middleweight Champion

To start off the top three, we have Demetrius Andrade on our list. The American professional boxer is also undefeated, and has a record of 31-0, with 19 KOs. 

Andrade is also the current WBO middleweight champion. He won the title in 2018 from Walter Kautondokwa and has already defended it four times. Andrade has also held the WBO light-middleweight title, which he won in 2013, and defended once. 

Andrade defended his title last weekend, against Irish boxer Jason Quigley. Andrade had a dominant win, by finishing the fight in the second round via TKO.

 

  1. Jermall Charlo

Title(s): WBC Middleweight Champion

Our number 2 pick, Jermall Charlo, also has an undefeated professional record of 32-0, with 22 KOs. Charlo has held world titles in two different weight divisions.

In 2015, he defeated Cornelius Bundrage to win the IBF junior middleweight title. He went on to defend this title three times before moving to middleweight. In 2018, he defeated Hugo Centeno Jr. to become the WBC interim middleweight champion. After defending the title once, he was promoted to world champion and has defended the world title three times already. 

His most recent win came against Juan Macias Montiel, in a completely one-sided bout, and as of now, there is no official announcement about his next fight.

  1. Gennady Golovkin

Title(s): IBF Middleweight Champion

At number 1, we have the one and only GGG. Gennady Golovkin has reigned over the middleweight division as one of the best for a very long time. He has a very impressive record of 41 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw. He is also ranked number 1 by BoxRec, TBRB, and The Ring. 

With a record of 41 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw, Golovkin is a two-time middleweight champion. He is the current unified IBF and IBO middleweight champion, and previously also held the unified WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, and IBO middleweight titles. 

GGG defended his title against Kamil Szeremeta in his most recent fight, and for his next fight, he will be facing WBA (Super) middleweight champion, Ryōta Murata.
