MLB Best Latino Baseball Players 2023 Rankings

The game of baseball is one sport that is played around the world in nearly every country. As the game of baseball continues to be one of the most popular sports played, the talent level on the field continues to develop and grow each season. This includes the number of MLB Latino players taking the field during the 2023 MLB season. As you look at the Top 10 MLB Latino Baseball Players 2023 rankings list, the list is loaded with some of the best baseball players in the game today.

Headlining the list of the best Latino baseball players in Major League Baseball during the 2023 MLB schedule is the Atlanta Braves right fielder Ronald Acuna Jr. After being limited over the previous two seasons, Acuna Jr is healthy and playing at an MVP level while setting the table for the NL MVP Award. The Braves outfielder currently leads Major League Baseball with 107 runs scored and 55 stolen bases over his first 117 games of the season.

Joining Acuna Jr on the list of the best Latino baseball players is his Braves teammate second baseman Ozzie Albies, right fielder Adolis Garcia of the Texas Rangers, closer Felix Bautista of the Baltimore Orioles, and center fielder Luis Robert Jr of the Chicago White Sox. Here is a look at the Top 10 MLB Latino Baseball Players 2023 rankings list.

J.D. Martinez

Team: Los Angeles Dodgers

Position: Designated Hitter
Country: Cuba

Just missing the Top 10 MLB Latino Players 2023 rankings list is the long time MLB veteran and current Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter J.D. Martinez.

The 35 year old outfielder who turns 36 on August 21st, hit .271 on the season while picking up 27 doubles and 33 home runs through the 2023 season.

Playing in a limited role, Martinez has produced while at the plate for the Dodgers all season. Over his career Martinez has racked up a career .287 batting average to go along with 366 doubles, 315 home runs and 1002 runs batted in. 

Framber Valdez

Team: Houston Astros

Position: Starting Pitcher
Country: Dominican Republic

Talking about talented MLB Latino players, Framber Valdez is one of those players while ranking among one of the best starting pitchers in the American League.

Valdez, who has been a strong part of the Houston Astros rotation, has continued his success in 2023 earning his second AL All-Star team selection.

Overall Valdez has pitched to a 12-11 record on the season while striking out 200 batters and posting a 3.45 earned run average. In addition to that success, the Astros starter posted his first career no hitter back on August 1st, 2023.

10. Luis Castillo

Team: Seattle Mariners

Position: Starting Pitcher
Country: Dominican Republic

Coming in at number 10 on the Top 10 MLB Latino Players 2023 rankings list is the Seattle Mariners starter Luis Castillo.

Castillo, who was traded to the Seattle Mariners before the 2022 MLB trade deadline has been one of the more consistent starters in baseball over the past two seasons while becoming the ace of the Mariners rotation.

Castillo has pitched to a 3.34 earned run average in the 2023 season while posting an 14-9 record and striking out 219 batters in 197 innings of work. 

9. Elly De La Cruz

Team: Cincinnati Reds

Position: Third Baseman
Country: Dominican Republic

Mr. Electric is taking baseball by storm during the 2023 MLB season while becoming a fan favorite of not only the Cincinnati Reds fans but baseball fans all across the country.

Entering mid-August, Elly De La Cruz who is just 21 years old has put together a stellar start to his MLB career.

With 2023 under his belt the Reds Cruz is hitting .235 on the season with 15 doubles, 13 home runs, 44 runs batted in and 35 stolen bases while also scoring 67 runs.

8. Juan Soto

Team: San Diego Padres

Position: Left Fielder
Country: Dominican Republic

It is hard to imagine Juan Soto landing this far down the list of the best Latino baseball players around Major League Baseball in 2023. Nonetheless, the San Diego Padres outfielder is putting together another strong season while earning his third straight NL All-Star team selection.

Soto, who is one of the youngest players on the list of Latino players, has 160 career home runs and 483 runs batted in all before turning 25 years old.

Soto finished first in all of Major League Baseball with 132 walks while posting a .410 on base percentage mark while hitting 35 home runs and driving in 97 runs.

7. Rafael Devers

Team: Boston Red Sox

Position: Third Baseman
Country: Dominican Republic

When you start to look around at the best third baseman’s in baseball, Rafael Devers is one player who comes to mind.

The Red Sox player is just 26 years old but has put together a strong start to his MLB career. This includes posting at least 25 home runs in four of the last five seasons. This is while posting 172 total for his career through his first 800 games played.

The Dominican Republic baseball star batted .271 on the season with 33 home runs, 100 runs batted in while also posting an .500 slugging percentage mark. 

6. Luis Arraez

Team: Miami Marlins

Position: Second Baseman
Country: Venezuela​​​​​​

Possibly one of the best all around hitters in baseball is the Miami Marlins second baseman Luis Arraez. Arraez continues to rack up the hits while leading Major League Baseball this season with a .354 batting average and hits with 203.

To go along with those numbers Arraez has 30 doubles, three triples, 69 runs batted in, and a .393 on base percentage mark in the 2023 MLB season.

5. Felix Bautista

Team: Baltimore Orioles

Position: Closer
Country: Dominican Republic

Rounding out the Top 10 MLB Latino Players 2023 rankings list is the Baltimore Orioles closer Felix Bautista. The Orioles are one of baseball’s top story lines while leading the American League East.

One of the team’s key weapons and a big reason to that success is Felix Bautista. Bautista has ranked among the best closers in baseball all season long.

The Orioles closer has 33 saves while posting a 1.48 earned run average. Even more impressive is Bautista is averaging 16.2 strikeouts per nine innings. This is while racking up 110 over 61 innings of work.

4. Luis Robert Jr.

Team: Chicago White Sox

Position: Center Fielder
Country: Cuba

One of the rising stars of the game is the 26 year old Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr.. The Cuban baseball player has put together a strong season in 2023 while being the face of the White Sox.

The White Sox center fielder is hit .264 in 2023, with 38 home runs and 80 runs batted in.

His production at the plate during the 2023 MLB season earned Robert his first MLB All-Star team selection and an opportunity to take part of the 2023 MLB Home Run Derby. 

3. Adolis Garcia

Team: Texas Rangers

Position: Right Fielder
Country: Cuba

A fresh face among the top Latino MLB players is the Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia who has emerged as one of the best run producers in the game.

After hitting 27 home runs and riving in 101 runs last season, Garcia beat those numbers easily this season.

The Rangers outfielder is batted .245 on the season with 29 doubles, 39 home runs, and 107 runs batted in. Garcia has also been solid in the outfield posting 11 outfield assists in 299 opportunities.

2. Ozzie Albies

Team: Atlanta Braves

Position: Second Baseman
Country: Curaçao

The Atlanta Braves put together a magical season. This is while nearly the entire team is putting together a strong season. This includes both Ozzie Albies and Ronald Acuna Jr who land at number one and number two among the best Latino baseball players in 2023.

The Braves second baseman ended the fourth most runs batted in the league with 109 with his teammate Matt Olson at the top.

The numbers don’t stop their as Albies is hitting .280 on the season with 30 doubles, five triples, 33 home runs, 109 runs batted in and a 4.7 Wins Above Replacement (WAR) mark with 148 games played. 

1. Ronald Acuna Jr.

Team: Atlanta Braves

Position: Right Fielder
Country: Venezuela

In at number one on the Top 10 MLB Latino Players 2023 rankings list is the Atlanta Braves right fielder and NL MVP candidate Ronald Acuna Jr.

The Braves outfielder in 2023 leading all of MLB in multiple statistics. This includes being second with a 8.1 Wins Above Replacement (WAR). To go along with that production Acuna Jr has posted a league leading .416 on base percentage, a second place leading .337 batting average, and scored 149 runs leading the league.

The Braves outfielder ranks among the NL fourth in home runs (41), and fifth place runs batted in (106). In addition, Acuna Jr is a threat on the base paths posting 73 stolen bases while leading Major League Baseball.
