As you look around at the MLB players worth mentioning to headline the best seasons on the Top 10 MLB Player Predictions 2023 rankings list, one name that stands out is the Los Angeles Angels star two-way player Shohei Ohtani.

Ohtani is a rare phenom that continues to perform at a high level both on the mound for the Angels as well as at the plate.

As Ohtani headlines the list of the MLB players expected to put together the best seasons during the 2023 MLB schedule, another Angels star landing among the list is the talented center fielder Mike Trout who continues to rank among the best hitters in all of baseball year in and year out.

Joining Ohtani and Trout on the list of the Top 10 MLB players for 2023 include Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees, Paul Goldschmidt of the St. Louis Cardinals, and Dylan Cease of the Chicago White Sox. Here is a look at the Top 10 MLB Player Predictions 2023 rankings list:

Honorable Mention

Julio Urias

Team: Los Angeles Dodgers

Position: Starting Pitcher

Landing just outside of the Top 10 MLB Player Predictions 2023 rankings list is the Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star pitcher Julio Urias. Urias is a top tier starter who is coming off back-to-back strong seasons.

Over the previous two seasons Urias has pitched to a 37-10 record to go along with a combined 2.56 earned run average. This includes finishing the 2023 MLB season with a career low 2.16 earned run average.

Urias has the potential to reach 20 wins again in 2023 especially after the hot 3-0 start and 1.50 earned run average performance to start the 2023 MLB season.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Team: Toronto Blue Jays

Position: First Baseman

Another MLB star who has the potential to take home some hardware during the 2023 MLB season is the Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Guerrero Jr. who is coming off a 32-home run and 97 run batted in campaign last season will look to build on to that performance in 2023.

Over his first four seasons, Guerrero Jr has posted an on base percentage mark over .329 in all four seasons while also having at least 175 hits in each of the past two seasons.

The Blue Jays young star’s ability to work counts while also picking up clutch hits makes him a strong contender to take home the 2023 AL MVP Award while helping carry the Blue Jays to another postseason appearance.

Top 10 MLB Player Predictions

10. Manny Machado

Team: San Diego Padres

Position: Third Baseman

Coming in at number 10 on the Top 10 MLB Player Predictions 2023 rankings list is the San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado.

Machado, who was in the running for the NL MVP Award down the stretch last season, will be just one of many stars in the Padres lineup that can put-up big-time numbers this season.

With Fernando Tatis Jr expected to return and the addition of Xander Bogaerts, Machado will have a ton of protection in the lineup that will force opposing batters to pitch to him.

9. Ronald Acuna

Team: Atlanta Braves

Position: Right Fielder

While Ronald Acuna put together a strong season last year, it was clearly evident that the Atlanta Braves star outfielder was not fully healthy while recovering from an injury that shut him down during the 2021 MLB Season.

However, Acuna’s track record of being one of the NL’s best hitters has him looking to bounce back in a big way during the 2023 MLB season while fighting for the NL MVP Award.

Acuna has posted at least 24 home runs in three of his first five seasons in the Majors including a career high 41 home runs during the 2019 MLB season.

8. Adley Rutschman

Team: Baltimore Orioles

Position: Catcher

Over the next two players landing among the top players in all Major League Baseball each put together impressive rookie seasons last season. One of those two rookies is the Baltimore Orioles second year catcher Adley Rutschman.

Rutschman, who was called up last season, did not disappoint, helping to turn around a struggling Orioles pitching staff while also ranking among the leaders in doubles among all MLB rookies.

Fast forward to 2023 and the Orioles stud catcher will look to take another big stride forward while adding a full season under his belt at the major league level. Look for Rutschman to hit 30 doubles, 30 home runs while driving in at least 90 runs for the Orioles this season.

7. Julio Rodriguez

Team: Seattle Mariners

Position: Center Fielder

The second of those two players who put on a show last season while taking home the AL Rookie of the Year award is the Seattle Mariners stud center fielder Julio Rodriguez.

Rodriguez who slowly warranted comparisons to Ken Griffey Jr last season put on a show all season long while being a threat in the middle of the Mariners lineup.

Rodriguez will look to build on his 25 doubles, 28 home run, and 78 run batted in rookie season during the 2023 MLB season. Rodriguez has the tools to develop into a 40-home run and 100 runs batted in hitter as fast as the 2023 MLB season.

6. Pete Alonso

Team: New York Mets

Position: First Baseman

A name that often gets overlooked among the best players in all of baseball is the New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso. It is hard to look past the 28-year-old power hitting first baseman after another big season last season.

Alonso ranked among the leaders in doubles (27), home runs (40), and runs batted in last season (131). In three of his first four seasons Alonso has launched at least 37 home runs with his only exception coming during the Covid-19 shortened MLB Season.

Alonso, who has a ton of protection in the lineup will look to top the 40-home run mark for the third time in his young MLB career.

5. Dylan Cease

Team: Chicago White Sox

Position: Starting Pitcher

Rounding out the Top 5 on the x Top 10 MLB Player Predictions 2023 rankings list is the Chicago White Sox starter Dylan Cease who was as dominant as any starter in Major League Baseball. Despite only posting an 14-8 record the White Sox starter posted a 2.20 earned run average to go along with 227 strikeouts.

The 227 strikeouts were the second consecutive seasons the White Sox hurler topped the 225-strikeout mark. Cease will look to make a run after his hot start to the 2023 MLB season for the 2023 AL Cy Young Award.

4. Paul Goldschmidt

Team: St. Louis Cardinals

Position: First Baseman

The 35-year-old power hitting first baseman who is also among the best defensive first basemen in all of baseball is showing no signs of slowing up.

Goldschmidt, who joined the St. Louis Cardinals after the 2018 MLB Season, is coming off hitting at least 31 home runs in back-to-back seasons as well as in five of his last six MLB seasons.

His strong play at the plate last season landed him his first NL MVP Award while also earning him his seventh trip to the MLB All-Star game.

Goldschmidt will look to reach 350 home runs during the 2023 MLB season with a long shot potential to reach 500 home runs before his career runs out.

3. Mike Trout

Team: Los Angeles Angels

Position: Center Fielder

Year in and year out Mike Trout continues to rank among the best players in all of baseball. The same is said for the 2023 MLB season as Trout ranks among the best players in all of baseball with Aaron Judge and his own teammate Shohei Ohtani.

Despite appearing in just 119 games last season Trout ranked among the leaders in home runs with 40 while also driving in 80 runs and picking up 54 walks to post a .369 on base percentage.

If Trout can stay healthy for most of the 2023 MLB season, the Los Angeles Angels All-Star has the potential to top the 40-home run mark for the fourth time while also making a run at 400 career home runs before the end of the 2023 MLB Season.

2. Aaron Judge

Team: New York Yankees

Position: Right Fielder

How can any player respond and build on a season like that of Aaron Judge during the 2022 MLB Season. Judge who is the anchor in the middle of a talented New York Yankees team finished the season as the AL MVP Award winner while also leading the American League in runs batted in and home runs while taking home his third Silver Slugger Award while also setting the record for most home runs in the American League in one season.

While Judge might not top his 62-home run mark from last season, it is proven that Judge can hit with the best players in baseball and electing to return to the Yankees should help the All-Star top the 40-home run mark for the third time in his MLB career.

1. Shohei Ohtani

Team: Los Angeles Angels

Position: Starting Pitcher / Designated Hitter

In at number one on the Top 10 MLB Player Predictions 2023 rankings list is the two-way phenom Shoehei Ohtani. Ohtani who ranks among the best hitters in all of baseball also ranks among the best pitchers in all of baseball at this point of time.

Ohtani who is coming off leading his Japan team to the World Baseball Classic Championship continues to amaze fans all around baseball night in and night out. Ohtani has the potential to win 20 games and hit 40 home runs in any given season with the 2023 MLB season possibly being that season.
