With a record of 18-5 and 4-1 in his last 5 he has beaten the likes of Carlos Condit, Diego Sanchez, Rafael dos Anjos., and Neil Magny. Against Magny, he showed amazing ground skills as he dominated Magny throughout the fight.
Chiesa lost his last fight against Vincente Luque by submission at UFC 265. His next fight has not been announced yet.
-
Jorge Masvidal
Organization: UFC
Masvidal is 3-2 in his last 5 with his last two against the champion Kamaru Usman. The first encounter he came as a late replacement and lost via unanimous decision. The second was coming off a full camp and lost via KO.
Masvidal’s next fight was against Leon Edwards at UFC 269 but could be out due to injury.
-
Stephen Thompson
Organization: UFC
“Wonderboy” has a record of 16-5 and he is 2-3 in his last 5. He has big wins over Geoff Neal and Vicente Luque. His last fight was against Gilbert Burns where he lost by decision at UFC 264.
Thompson is one of the few fighters that hasn’t fought the champion and a few good wins can get him back in the title mix. No announcement has been made for his next fight.
-
Vicente Luque
Organization: UFC
Luque has been on a roll climbing the UFC rankings since his loss against Stephen Thompson. His last 4 fights were all stoppages by KO or Submission. He has a record of 21-7 and is 14-3 in the UFC. His last 4 wins include Niko Price, Randy Brown, Tyron Woodley, and Michael Chiesa.
Luque was able to stop the surging Michael Chiesa in the first round by submission. His next fight has not been announced yet.
-
Colby Covington
Organization: UFC
Colby Covington is holding a 16-3 record with a 3-2 record in his last 5 fights. Outside of fighting the current champion twice he has big wins over Rafael dos Anjos, Robbie Lawler, and Tyron Woodley. Covington was able to secure a rematch against the current Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman after his dominant fight against former champion Tyron Woodley.
In the rematch at UFC 268, Covington was able to overcome a rough start in the first 3 rounds taking hard shots and even being rocked. He was able to turn it on in the 4th round but it was not enough as Kamaru Usman is still the World Champion.
No announcement has been made for his next fight.
-
Gilbert Burns
Organization: UFC
Since “Durinho” returned to the 170lbs weight class he has been 4-1 in his last 5. His lone loss was against the champion Kamaru Usman in a fight that showed a lot of heart before the KO stoppage.
His last 5 includes names like Gunnar Nelson, Demian Maia, and Tyron Woodley outside the current UFC champion. His last fight was against Stephen Thompson at UFC 264 where he won by unanimous decision.
His next fight has not been announced yet.
-
Leon Edwards
Organization: UFC
Leon Edwards hasn’t lost a fight since losing to Kamaru Usman by unanimous decision back in 2015. He now has 9 wins and 1 No Contest since. Before the accidental eye poke against Belal Muhammad he was in cruise control and looked to be the better fighter. This eye poke was unfortunate.
His recent fight against Nate Diaz was a dominant win outside the last minute where he was nearly knocked out. That doesn’t erase his dominant performance against the popular veteran Diaz.
His next fight was against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 269 but dropped out due to injury.
-
Kamaru Usman
Organization: UFC
Title: UFC Welterweight Champion
The “Nigerian Nightmare” has been tormenting the division for years. Before winning the UFC title, it was said fighters avoided him. Now touting a record of 17-1 he’s only getting better after each fight. Now he is the Pound 4 Pound fighter in the MMA rankings right now and is entering GOAT status in Welterweight that could surpass Georges St. Pierre.
His latest fight was a rematch from UFC 245 back in 2019 where he faced Colby Covington in what was a close fight till Usman finished him by TKO. Since then he has been active, beating Jorge Masvidal twice and Gilbert Burns. Two of those three were by KO and TKO respectively. Compared to Colby Covington’s one fight decision win against Tyron Woodley.
At UFC 268 Usman dominated the first 3 rounds. Stuffing takedowns and delivering powerful shots that rocked Colby Covington. Usman was able to secure the victory by majority decision.
No official announcement for his next fight.
