Edwards is the current UFC welterweight world champion, and he won the title after defeating former Dominant champion Kamaru Usman at UFC 278. He also has impressive wins over fighters like Vicente Luque, Gunnar Nelson, Rafael dos Anjos, and Nate Diaz.

He defended his title in a rematch against Kamaru Usman and won the fight via Majority Decision. Edwards was very effective on the feet and defended multiple takedowns. He won the fight even though he was deducted a point earlier in the fight.

Recently, at UFC 296, Edwards faced Colby Covington in his second title defense. Edwards pressured Covington from the first round, making him move back, and limiting his movement with hard leg kicks. He remained composed despite the bad blood and won the fight via Unanimous Decision.
