As you start to look around at the list of the Top 10 Women’s College Basketball Player Rankings 2023-2024, the list is loaded with star power and potential top WNBA Draft Picks. 8. Hannah Hidalgo

Team: Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Position: Guard

Another one of the most talented Women’s College Basketball freshmen over the course of the 2023-2024 Women’s College Basketball schedule was the Notre Dame Fighting Irish guard Hannah Hidalgo.

Hidalgo played a crucial role in the basketball team’s success all season on both ends of the floor including being one of the top defenders in all of college basketball. Over 35 games played this season the Fighting Irish led the nation while averaging nearly five steals per game (4.6).

Going along with the stellar defense, Hidalgo averaged 22.6 points per game, 6.2 rebounds and 5.5 assists. On the season the five-foot six-inch freshman guard from Haddonfield New Jersey finished ranked sixth in the country in scoring and 24th in assists per game.

7. Kiki Iriafen

School: Stanford Cardinal

Position: Forward

A name that has gone under the radar for most of the season is the Stanford Cardinal junior forward Kiki Iriafen. Iriafen, who is from Los Angeles, California has slowly developed her all-around game since arriving with the Cardinal program before the 2021-2022 Women’s College Basketball season.

The six-foot three inch forward capped off her third season averaging 19.4 points per game to go along with 11 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

6. Elizabeth Kitley

Team: Virginia Tech

5. Lucy Olsen

Team: Villanova Wildcats

Position: Guard

A year after losing the top scorer Maddy Siegrist to the WNBA, the Villanova Wildcats found their star power as junior guard Lucy Olsen stepped up while improving her all around game.

After scoring just 12.4 points per game a season ago, Olsen nearly doubled her scoring average finishing the season averaging 23.3 points per game, the third most in Women’s College Basketball.

4. Paige Bueckers

Team: UConn Huskies

Position: Guard

The talented guard for the UConn Huskies who was slowed by injuries over the previous two seasons was fully healthy for the 2023-2024 season giving her the ability to display her talents on the hardwood.

Bueckers did not disappoint either, posting 21.9 points per game to go along with 5.2 rebounds, 2.2 steals, 1.4 blocked shots, and 3.8 assists per game.

The Huskies guard is a versatile two-way guard who can play on both ends of the floor while also having the ability to take over a game on the offensive end of the court. Bueckers finished the season also shooting 53 percent from the field and 41.6 percent from behind the three-point line.

3. Angel Reese

Team: LSU Tigers

Position: Forward/Center

Another dominant Women’s College Basketball player who will be making the jump to the WNBA this off-season is the LSU Tigers star Angel Reese. Reese, who guided the Tigers to the National Championship last season put together another strong season despite seeing some overall performance metrics drop.

On paper it looks to be the case, however, the addition of multiple top transfers reduced the number of opportunities for Reese who did not miss when she had the ball in her hand.

The Baltimore, Maryland native was as dynamic of a threat down low on the offensive end of the floor as the defensive end of the floor while also being one of the top rebounders in the country. Reese capped off the season averaging 18.6 points per game to go along with 13.4 rebounds.

2. JuJu Watkins

Team: USC Trojans

Position: Guard

As the torch will be passed to the next best player to take over the top spot during the 2024-2025 NCAA Women’s Basketball season, one player ready for the jump is the USC Trojans freshman star JuJu Watkins.

Watkins, who was the top overall incoming recruit this season, did not disappoint in her first season with the Trojans. Over 34 games played during her freshman season Watkins finished second in scoring averaging 27.1 points per game while trailing only Clark in scoring.

The success did not stop there as Watkins helped pace the Trojans to the Pac-12 Tournament Championship as well as a run to the Elite Eight before falling to an incredibly talented UConn Huskies team. To go along with the 27.1 points per game, Watkins added 7.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.3 steals, and 1.6 blocked shots per game.
