This article highlights the top 10 Asian players in the NFL who are showcasing exceptional athletic prowess and contributing to the league’s cultural diversity, inspiring fans and communities alike. Honorable Mention
John Metchie III
Team: Houston Texans
John Metchie III, wide receiver for the Houston Texans, deserves mention for his resilience and talent. The young star was born in Taiwan, and his mother is of Taiwanese descent.
Metchie’s journey has been one of immense courage, including his battle with leukemia shortly after being drafted. His determination and spirit inspire many, as although he couldn’t play the season after being drafted, he caught 16 passes for 158 yards this past season.

10. Brevin Jordan
Team: Houston Texans
Tight end Brevin Jordan, who also plays for the Houston Texans, is of Korean descent. Jordan has shown great promise with his ability to make plays in the passing game and his blocking skills.
His versatility makes him a dual threat on offense, capable of impacting the game in multiple ways. In the 2023-24 season, he totaled 219 yards on 17 passes, 2 of which were touchdowns and 13 for first downs.
9. Tyler Allgeier
Team: Atlanta Falcons
Tyler Allgeier, running back for the Atlanta Falcons, is of Filipino descent. In fact, on his left arm, he has the Philippine sun and stars tattooed as a tribute to his Filipino family that helped raise him.
Known for his robust build and tough running, Allgeier has shown he can shoulder the load as a dependable back, contributing significantly to the Falcons’ ground game with his relentless effort and durability.
As a rookie, Allgeier shocked many as he totaled more than 1,000 rushing yards. However, he is also a threat in the passing game, as he caught 18 passes for 193 yards this past season.
8. Camryn Bynum
Team: Minnesota Vikings
Camryn Bynum, a cornerback for the Minnesota Vikings, is proud of his Filipino roots. He has organized numerous outreach efforts in the Philippines and regularly wears cleats containing elements from Filipino culture.
Since joining the NFL, Bynum has shown great potential with his solid coverage skills and ability to read the game, quickly adapting to the professional level and showing promise as a defensive asset. In his third season, he recorded two interceptions and 193 combined tackles, 93 of which were solo.
7. Kalif Raymond
Team: Detroit Lions
Wide receiver Kalif Raymond plays for the Detroit Lions and is of Chinese descent. Known for his speed and agility, Raymond has proven to be a valuable asset for the Lions, contributing significantly to the Lions’ offensive strategies.
Although struggling a bit during his first two seasons with the Tennessee Titans, Raymond found his home in Detroit in 2021.
Since joining the Lions, the slot receiver has totaled 1,681 receiving yards, five touchdowns, and 139 rushing yards, demonstrating his dynamic offensive ability.
6. Taylor Rapp
Team: Buffalo Bills
Taylor Rapp, a safety for the Buffalo Bills, is of Chinese descent and has been vocal about his pride in his heritage. In 2019, Rapp stated that he wanted to change the narrative and inspire young kids by demonstrating that Asians can play football.
He has been a perfect role model since, as he is pivotal in the Bills secondary, known for his hard-hitting style and knack for making crucial plays, especially in high-stakes situations. This past season, he recovered a fumble and recorded an interception and 50 total tackles.
5. Kyle Hamilton
Team: Baltimore Ravens
Safety Kyle Hamilton of the Baltimore Ravens has quickly made a name for himself in the NFL with his exceptional defensive skills. Of Korean descent, Hamilton’s mixed heritage adds to the rich diversity of the league.
In 2022, the lockdown safety even wore the South Korean flag on his helmet to represent his cultural heritage.
His range and intelligence on the field have made him a key player in the Ravens’ defense. In 2023, he recorded four interceptions and earned his first Pro Bowl and All-Pro awards.
4. Younghoe Koo
Team: Atlanta Falcons
As the sole kicker on this list, South Korean-born Younghoe Koo has made significant waves as one of the few Asian players directly from Asia in the NFL.
The Atlanta Falcons kicker has a compelling story of immigration and success, overcoming numerous challenges to become one of the league’s most reliable kickers. Since 2020, he has made 27 or more field goals each season, making over 90% of his kicks.
3. Leonard Williams

Defensive lineman Leonard Williams, who plays for the Seattle Seahawks, is of Japanese descent, as his father is half-Japanese.
Known for his versatility and strength, Williams has been a formidable force on the defensive front, consistently disrupting opponents’ offensive lines and earning a reputation as a stalwart defender.
Since his rookie season in 2015, Williams has started 155 games for three teams while recording a staggering 43.5 sacks and 261 solo tackles.
2. Josh Jacobs

Kyler Murray, quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, stands out for his explosive athleticism and his mixed heritage, including Korean descent through his maternal grandmother.
Since being drafted first overall in 2019, Murray has dazzled fans with his dynamic playmaking abilities, earning multiple Pro Bowl selections.
As a quarterback, he’s a great passer who completes roughly two-thirds of his passes, but his rushing ability makes him a dynamic threat. In his 5-year career, he has rushed for 26 touchdowns and nearly 2500 yards on 425 attempts.
