Top 10 Best NFL Players Right Now 2024

The 2024 NFL schedule has arrived as NFL teams, players, experts and fans are excited for what looks to be another action-packed season. A season that has the potential to deliver big time performances from top quarterbacks such as Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson to big time defensive performances from stars T.J. Watt and Myles Garrett. Meanwhile the chance to see a three-peat is on the line as the Kansas City Chiefs chase their third Super Bowl championship in a row. As you start to look around the NFL many great players fill the league with a long list warranting a spot among the Top 10 Best NFL Players 2024 Rankings Predictions list.

Unfortunately, only 10 of the over 1,696 players within the league on active 53-man rosters have the opportunity to land on that list. Leading that charge is the Chiefs starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes who will be entering the 2024 NFL season looking to add his third regular season NFL MVP Award as well a pickup his fourth Super Bowl Championship.

Joining Mahomes among the best NFL Players entering the 2024 NFL season are quarterbacks Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens and C.J. Stroud of the Houston Texas as well as running back Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers and outside linebacker T.J. Watt of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Here is a look at the Top 10 Best NFL Players 2024 Rankings Predictions:

Honorable Mention

Derek Stingley Jr.

Team: Houston Texans

Position: Cornerback

Over on the defensive side of the football another former LSU Tigers stand out is shining at the cornerback position while being just 23 years old. That cornerback is Derek Stingley Jr who is in the midst of his best season in his young NFL career while finding a way to stay healthy on the football field each week.

Stingley through 14 games has posted a career high 46 total tackles while also tying his own career high with five interceptions including a key late interception during week 15 to secure the Houston Texans the AFC South division title. Even more impressive has been the 17 pass deflections on the season that ranks second in the NFL.

Justin Jefferson

Team: Minnesota Vikings

Position: Wide Receiver

Just missing the Top 10 NFL Players 2024-2025 Rankings list is the former LSU Tigers star wide receiver and current Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson.

The talented playmaking wide receiver has been a key contributor on a Vikings team that currently sits at 12-2 and in second place in the NFC North division.

Entering week 16, Jefferson currently ranks among the leaders in a number of receiving statistics including tied for 10th in receptions (82), second in receiving yards (1,243), and tied for 10th in touchdown receptions (8). Despite often seeing double teams and opposing top cornerbacks, Jefferson has not slowed down all season while averaging 15.2 yards per catch.

10. Jared Goff

Team: Detroit Lions

Position: Quarterback

Sliding in at number 10 on the Top 10 NFL Players 2024-2025 Rankings list is the Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff. For most NFL quarterbacks the current production Jared Goff has posted would have them nearly certain to take home the NFL MVP however the costly 10 interceptions may take that award away from.

Nonetheless Goff leads one of the NFL’s top ranked offenses week in and week out while ranking among the NFL leaders in many passing statistics while also leading the Detroit Lions to a 12-2 start to the season.

Goff enters week 16 ranked second in the NFL in passing yards (3,759), fourth in the NFL in passing touchdowns (30), second in the NFL in completion percentage (71.4), and second in passer rating (110.4).

9. Trey Hendrickson

Team: Cincinnati Bengals

Position: Defensive End

Another talented pass rusher continuing to put together a strong season is the Cincinnati Bengals defensive end and sack specialist Trey Hendrickson.

Hendrickson, who faces double teams during most of his time on the field, has not let it impact his production during the 2024 NFL season. Through the first 15 weeks of the 2024 NFL season, Hendrickson leads all defensive players while posting 12.5 sacks.

In his fourth season with the Bengals, Hendrickson has topped the double-digit sack mark for the third time while pushing his career sack total to 72 total sacks. To go along with those numbers Hendrickson has also added two forced fumbles, five passes defended, and 5.5 stuffs.

8. Derrick Henry

Team: Baltimore Ravens

Position: Running Back

The nine-year NFL veteran continues to show no signs of slowing down during his first season with the Baltimore Ravens. The former Tennessee Titans running back who had topped the 1,000-yard mark in five of the last six seasons with the Tennessee Titans, has already eclipsed the mark reaching 1,474 yards on 254 carries while averaging a current career high 5.8 yards per carry.

Henry who has formed one of the top running duos in the league with two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson has also rushed for 13 touchdowns extending his current streak to seven straight double figure touchdowns while pushing his career total to 103 rushing touchdowns. In addition, Henry has added 125 yards receiving with two touchdown receptions.

7. Xavier McKinney

Team: Green Bay Packers

Position: Safety

As the evolution of NFL offenses continue to evolve, the key for top tier cornerbacks and safeties are key to any team’s success in shutting down opposing quarterbacks.

One of those talented safeties is the Green Bay Packers Xavier McKinney who has shined in his first season with the Green Bay Packers. McKinney who was a standout star for the Alabama Crimson Tide has been all over the field for the Packers posting a career high seven interceptions to go along with nine passes defensed, one sack, and one forced fumble.

The addition of McKinney to the defense has played a key role in the team’s success on defense while picking up 10 wins to start the 2024 NFL season.

6. T.J. Watt

Team: Pittsburgh Steelers

Position: Outside Linebacker

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to hold a slight lead in the AFC North while the team’s defense led by All-Pro linebacker T.J. Watt has continued to showcase his dominance as one the league’s top pass rushers in the NFL while posting 11.5 sacks while ranking third in the NFL in total sacks.

In addition to getting to the quarterback, While Watt is currently battling an ankle injury, expectations are high he should be able to continue to play while helping the Steelers fight for another division title and a run to the Super Bowl.

Since arriving in the NFL, Watt has posted at least 11.5 sacks in six of his first eight seasons while ranking among the leaders in each of those seasons. Add to his impressive performance getting to the quarterback, Watt also leads the NFL with six forced fumbles to start the season. 

5. Joe Burrow

Team: Cincinnati Bengals

Position: Quarterback

Rounding out the Top 5 on the Top 10 NFL Players 2024-2025 Rankings list is the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback and NFL leading passer Joe Burrow. Over 14 games Burrow has gone under the radar for the NFL MVP award while doing everything in his power to keep the Bengals in games.

While Burrow is getting overshadowed in the race, it is hard to put blame on the former LSU Tigers quarterback who leads the NFL with 3,977 yards passing and 36 passing touchdowns while throwing just eight interceptions.

With a strong finish, the Bengals franchise quarterback is set to put together his third 4,000 yard passing season over his first five seasons in the NFL.

4. Ja’Marr Chase

Team: Cincinnati Bengals

Position: Wide Receiver

As you start to look around the NFL it is hard to find another quarterback-wide receiver tandem better than Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Burrow. The dynamic duo has combined to put together a remarkable 2024 NFL campaign with each player currently ranking among the league leaders at their respective positions in multiple statistics.

Through 14 games, Chase has nearly been unstoppable at the wide receiver position posting 1,413 yards and 15 touchdown receptions both leading the talented group of receivers in the NFL.

Overall, Chase has posted at least two touchdowns in five different games and at least one touchdown in nine of 14 games this season to go along with four games with at least 118 yards receiving. With three games remaining Chase is on pace to set a career high in receiving yards while already setting career highs in both receptions (102) and touchdowns.

3. Saquon Barkley

Team: Philadelphia Eagles

Position: Running Back

A potential season for the record books, Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles continues to chase Eric Dickerson’s long standing season rushing record. Barkley enters week 16 of the NFL season leading all NFL running backs in rushing yards with 1,688 yards and an average 5.9 yards per carry among all running backs with at least 100 carries.

With three games left, Barkley needs 417 yards to pass Dickerson while needing to average at least 139 yards per game down the stretch to become the single season rushing record holder.

Through the first portion of the season, Barkley currently leads the NFL in rushing attempts (285) and rushing yards (1,688) while sitting tied for seventh with 11 rushing touchdowns. In addition, the Eagles running back has added 31 catches for 276 yards along with two touchdown receptions.

2. Lamar Jackson

Team: Baltimore Ravens

Position: Quarterback

When it comes to top game changers in the NFL Lamar Jackson is right up there with any player in the NFL each week. Jackson, who is in contention to take home his second NFL MVP Award, has been brilliant all season long for the Ravens while passing for 3,580 yards, 34 touchdowns and just three interceptions. The three interceptions rank first among all starting quarterbacks entering week 16 of the NFL Season.

In addition to his plays with his arm, Jackson like Josh Allen has been electric in the team’s rushing game adding 743 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. On top of that success, Allen has four games this season passing four at least four touchdowns with zero interceptions thrown.

1. Josh Allen

Team: Buffalo Bills

Position: Quarterback

In at number one on the Top 10 NFL Players 2024-2025 Rankings list is the Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Allen, who is just one of a few star quarterbacks producing at a high level has been brilliant for the Bills all season long including finding a way to make plays with his own two feet while sacrificing his body for the greater good.

The strong play has helped the Bills to an 11-3 record and the AFC East title while setting goals on taking home the Lombardi Trophy while delivering his team their first Super Bowl title.

On the season Allen has thrown for 3,395 yards with 25 passing touchdowns to just five interceptions. In addition, Allen has racked up 484 rushing yards, 46 rushing first downs, and 11 rushing touchdowns.
