The 2022 NFL regular season has come and gone while having just the Super Bowl remaining on the schedule. As all eyes are on the NFL Super Bowl, the time is perfect for us to take a look back at the best NFL Players that played during the 2022 NFL schedule.

From MVP caliber play at the quarterback position to stellar defensive play by a few of the game’s best game changers.

The 2022 NFL season delivered a long list of players that were well deserving of a spot on the Top 10 NFL Players 2022 End of Season Rankings list. A list that is headlined by some of the top quarterbacks in the NFL.

At the top of the list as the best NFL player on the Top 10 NFL Players rankings list is the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Mahomes, who continues to build a Hall of Fame resume put together another brilliant season while leading the Chiefs to the best record in the NFL.

While Mahomes lands atop the list the Chiefs star is also joined by three additional quarterbacks including Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, and Josh Allen.

Other notable NFL players to land among the best NFL players from the 2022 NFL season include Nick Bosa of the San Francisco 49ers, Josh Jacobs of the Las Vegas Raiders, Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, and Hasson Reddick of the Philadelphia Eagles. Here is a look at the Top 10 NFL Players 2022 End of Season Rankings. 

Honorable Mention

Myles Garrett

Team: Cleveland Browns

Position: Defensive End
Previous Ranking: Honorable Mention #2

Just missing the Top 10 NFL Players 2022 End of Season Rankings list is the Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett.

Garrett, who ranks among the best pass rushers in all of the NFL put together another stellar season finishing tied for 2nd in the NFL with 16 total sacks.

Despite the struggles of the Browns, Garret was as good as any player in the NFL on the defensive side of the ball. To go along with the sacks, Garrett racked up 60 tackles, two forced fumbles, four passes defended, and 8.5 stuffs.

Justin Herbert

Team: Los Angeles Chargers

Position: Quarterback
Previous Ranking: Unranked

Another NFL star that just missed the list as one of the best players in the NFL is the Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert.

The Chargers quarterback finished the season ranked 2nd in the NFL in passing yards with 4,739 while also throwing for 25 touchdowns to just 10 interceptions.

The 4,739 yards passing was the third straight season since arriving in the NFL with at least 4,300 yards while also throwing for at least 25 touchdowns.

Despite dealing with injuries at the wide receiver position, Herbert found ways to move the ball down the field while leading the Chargers to a highly ranked offense.

10. Davante Adams

Team: Las Vegas Raiders

Position: Wide Receiver
Previous Ranking: #6

Doesn’t matter the team, doesn’t matter the quarterback, the current Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams ranks among the best players in the NFL.

After landing with his former college football teammate Derek Carr in Las Vegas for most of the season Adams was nearly unstoppable while putting together another Pro Bowl caliber year together.

Adams finished the season ranked 3rd in the NFL in receiving yards after finishing the season with 1,516 yards. In addition, Adams finished leading the NFL in touchdown receptions with 14 and third with 24 plays of at least 20 yards.

9. Joe Burrow

Team: Cincinnati Bengals

Position: Quarterback
Previous Ranking: #10

The future is bright in Cincinnati as the face of the Cincinnati Bengals has the team atop the AFC Conference as a team to beat. That face of the organization is Joe Burrow who led the team to the Super Bowl last season and nearly led them to the Super Bowl this season.

While Burrow has a tremendous supporting cast around him, the Bengals quarterback ranks among the best at the position.

The former LSU Tigers quarterback finished the season 5th in passing yards with 4,475 yards, tied for 2nd in passing touchdowns with 35, and 2nd in completion percentage with a 68.3 mark. 

To go along with the statistics Burrow led the Bengals to the AFC North crown as well as the AFC Championship contest.

8. C.J. Gardner-Johnson

Team: Philadelphia Eagles

Position: Safety
Previous Ranking: #5

When you look around at all the success the Philadelphia Eagles had this season much of that success starts on the defensive side of the ball.

The Eagles defense led by C.J. Gardner-Johnson and Haason Reddick ranked among the tops among all defensive teams.

Gardner-Johnson finished the season ranked 1st in the NFL while recording six interceptions while helping the Eagles force the fourth most turnovers in the NFL (27).

To go with those numbers the fourth-year star finished the season with one sack, eight passes defended, one sack, and a career high 67 tackles.

7. Josh Jacobs

Team: Las Vegas Raiders

Position: Running Back
Previous Ranking: Unranked

It is hard to look past the success that Josh Jacobs had this season on the ground while being a key threat in the team’s offensive attack all season.

The long time Las Vegas Raiders running back finished the season as the rushing leader after rushing for a career high 1,653 rushing yards.

Jacobs was an all-around solid back while being a grinder on the ground picking up a league high 93 first downs compared to the next closest of 69 first downs. Jacobs also added 12 rushing touchdowns, seven runs of at least 20 yards, 53 catches, and 400 receiving yards.

6. Haason Reddick

Team: Philadelphia Eagles

Position: Linebacker 
Previous Ranking: Unranked

The Philadelphia Eagles defense was as impressive as any defense in the National Football League while finishing tied for the best record in all of football.

Along with C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Haason Reddick helped lead the Eagles defense while being a havoc for opposing quarterbacks all season.

The former Temple Owls star finished the season ranked 2nd in the NFL with 16 total sacks as well as first with five forced fumbles.

As Reddick was all over the backfield for most of the season, the Eagles star finished the season with three passes defended, 49 tackles, three fumble recoveries, and four stuffs.

5. Justin Jefferson

Team: Minnesota Vikings

Position: Wide Receiver
Previous Ranking: #4

If it wasn’t for teams double and triple teaming him down the stretch the Minnesota Vikings All-Pro wide receiver would have topped the 2,000-yard receiving mark.

In the end, Jefferson finished the 2022 NFL season ranked 1st in the NFL in receiving yards with 1,809 as well as 1st in total receptions with 128 total.

His success on the field over the course of the NFL schedule lands him at number five on the Top 10 NFL Players 2022 End of Season Rankings list.

In addition to those numbers, Jefferson pulled in 80 catches for first down, eight touchdown receptions, as well as 28 catches of at least 20 plus yards. All this makes Justin Jefferson the 2022-2023 NFL Offensive Player of the Year.

4. Josh Allen

Team: Buffalo Bills

Position: Quarterback
Previous Ranking: #2

The future of the NFL continues to look bright at the quarterback position despite the retirement of Tom Brady, and the uncertainty of Aaron Rodgers.

Much of that bright spot is the play of the current crop of quarterbacks including Josh Allen who ranked among the best players in the NFL over the 2022 NFL schedule.

The Buffalo Bills quarterback is as gritty and tough as any of the quarterbacks while having the ability to make a play with his arm or his legs.

Allen finished the season with 4,283 yards passing to go along with 35 touchdown passes, a 71.4 Quarterback Rating (QBR) while completing 63.3 percent of his passes. The Bills quarterback also added 762 yards on the ground to go along with seven rushing touchdowns.

3. Nick Bosa

Team: San Francisco 49ers

Position: Defensive End
Previous Ranking: #3

The potential NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Nick Bosa was a threat to get to the quarterback on nearly any passing play while also playing a key role in the team’s overall success on defense. 

Bosa finished the season ranked 1st in the NFL with 18.5 total sacks while also posting 19 tackles for a loss, 51 total tackles, two forced fumbles and one pass defended.

His production helped the San Francisco 49ers finish 1st in the NFL in yards allowed per game with 300.6 while also holding opponents to just 16.3 points per game. This made Nick Bosa the 2022-2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

2. Jalen Hurts

Team: Philadelphia Eagles

Position: Quarterback
Previous Ranking: #8

For the number two player as well as the number one overall player each have the chance to win a Super Bowl title while building on to their NFL resumes.

In at number two is the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and former Alabama Crimson Tide star Jalen Hurts. Hurts was brilliant over the course of the 2022 NFL season throwing for 3,701 yards with 22 touchdown passes while throwing just six total interceptions.

In addition, Hurts ability to make plays with his legs helped open up the entire Eagles rushing attack. Hurts added 760 rushing yards to go along with 67 rushes for first downs and 13 rushing touchdowns.

1. Patrick Mahomes

Team: Kansas City Chiefs

Position: Quarterback
Previous Ranking: #1

In at number one on the Top 10 NFL Players 2022 End of Season Rankings list is the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

It is hard not to slot Mahomes in at the top of the list for the best player in the NFL. The Chiefs quarterback lost his star receiver in the offseason and still finished the season as the only quarterback to throw for at least 5,000 yards (5,250).

While leading the league in passing yards, Mahomes also finished with a league high 41 touchdown passes, QB rating of 77.5 while completing 67.1 percent of his passes. Mahomes now has the Chiefs looking for another Super Bowl Championship.
