Ranking the Top 10 NFL Wide Receivers as Tyreek Hill leads the way in the 2024 NFL Season. Also where Ja’Marr Chase, and more rank
By admin | May 8, 2024
The talent at wide receiver continues to excel and grow each NFL season as an extensive list of talented playmakers take to the field during each week of the season. As you start to look around at the lengthy list of playmakers at the position it is difficult to pinpoint exactly who the ten best wide receivers in the NFL are without debating each player. One of those players that stands out as the best wide receiver in the league and by a slim margin is the Miami Dolphins All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill who lands atop the Top 10 NFL Wide Receivers 2024 Rankings.
The eight-year NFL veteran is entering his ninth season in the league while posting at least 1,000 yards in six of the eight seasons while coming up short in 2019 after appearing in just 12 games.
The Miami Dolphins wide receiver continues to rank among the fastest receivers in the league while using his speed and route running ability to open up his own playmaking opportunities as well as his teammates. Entering 2024 the Cheetah is coming off a season leading the league in both receiving yards (1,799) and receiving touchdowns (13).
Joining Hill among the best wide receivers in the NFL include Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys, Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders, and Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions.
Here is a look at the Top 10 NFL Wide Receivers 2024 Rankings:
Honorable Mention
Brandon Aiyuk
Team: San Francisco 49ers
2023 Stats: 75 REC, 1,342 YDS, 7 TD, 17.9 AVG
Just missing the Top 10 NFL Wide Receivers 2024 Rankings list is the San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. The 26-year-old wide receiver from the Arizona State Sun Devils is a dynamic wide receiver with tremendous speed and route running abilities.
Entering 2024 Aiyuk will look to build on a strong 2023 NFL season that included ranking second behind just Tyreek Hill and CeeDee Lamb in receptions over 20 yards with 28 total. The 49ers wide receiver also finished seventh in the NFL in yards (1,342) while adding seven touchdown receptions and 75 receptions.
Stefon Diggs
Team: Houston Texans
2023 Stats: 107 REC, 1,183 YDS, 8 TD, 11.1 AVG
As the 2024 NFL season approaches the former Buffalo Bills All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs prepares for a change of scenery as he looks to continue his career with the Houston Texans.
Diggs continues to be a big-time playmaker week in and week out after finishing tied for eighth in the NFL with eight touchdown receptions. Diggs has been as good as any receiver in the NFL since the 2018 NFL season posting six consecutive seasons with at least 1,000 yards while posting no fewer than six touchdowns.
In addition, the newly acquired Texans receiver has posted at least 58 first down catches in each of the last four seasons. The gritty and talented receiver will now look to help the Texans make a deeper postseason run in 2024.
Top 10 NFL Wide Receivers 2024 Rankings
10. DJ Moore
Team: Chicago Bears
2023 Stats: 96 REC, 1,364 YDS, 8 TD, 14.2 AVG
Sliding in at number 10 on the Top 10 NFL Wide Receivers 2024 Rankings list is the Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore. Moore will enter the 2024 NFL season coming off his best season in the NFL posting career highs in receptions (96), receiving yards (1,364) and touchdown receptions (8).
The former Maryland Terps wide receiver lacks the size of many of the top tier wide receivers but plays bigger than his five-foot 11-inch status while using his speed, route running and sure hands to make up for.
As the Bears get set to move on with a big-time passing threat in rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, Moore is expected to continue to see the ball come his way.
9. Ja’Marr Chase
Team: Cincinnati Bengals
2023 Stats: 100 REC, 1,216 YDS, 7 TD, 12.2 AVG
When healthy and with a healthy Joe Burrow on the field Ja’Marr Chase is as explosive as any wide receiver in the NFL. Despite playing with a backup quarterback for a majority of the 2024 NFL season, Chase still managed to top the 1,000-yard mark for the third straight season.
Chase is a speedy big play receiver who uses his length and playmaking abilities to set up big plays for the Bengals. Despite missing one game last season Chase finished the season pulling in 100 catches to go along with 1,216 receiving yards and seven touchdown receptions.
8. Puka Nacua
Team: Los Angeles Rams
2023 Stats: 105 REC, 1,486 YDS, 6 TD, 14.2 AVG
We have seen it over and over the past few years with big play receivers making an impact as a rookie however, Puka Nacua of the Los Angeles Rams took it to the next level ranking among the best wide receivers in the NFL despite being the 20th wide receiver selected and a fifth-round draft pick.
The Rams second year receiver showed off tremendous route running abilities and ability to separate from coverage while finding the open layer of field for Matthew Stafford to find him in.
The former BYU Cougar is looking to improve on a season that included posting the fourth most receiving yards (1,486), ninth most receptions (105) and fourth most plays of over 20 yards (25).
7. A.J. Brown
Team: Philadelphia Eagles
2023 Stats: 106 REC, 1,456 YDS, 7 TD, 13.7 AVG
It is hard to look past A.J. Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles as one of the top wide receivers in the NFL entering the 2024 NFL schedule. Brown, who is entering his sixth NFL season has posted at least 1,000 yards in four of his first five seasons with his lone season coming during 2021 across 13 games played.
Since arriving in the city of Brotherly Love, Brown has been a big play threat posting 129 first downs over the past two seasons to go along with 18 touchdown receptions and 2,952 receiving yards.
In addition to his ability to separate in coverage, Brown brings a fiery competitor attitude to the field while not shying down from going against opposing teams top cornerback.
6. Mike Evans
Team: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2023 Stats: 79 REC, 1,255 YDS, 13 TD, 15.9 AVG
Despite being one of the older wide receivers landing on the list, Mike Evans continues to build a Hall of Fame resume during each NFL season.
Evans, who was selected during the 2014 NFL Draft, has yet to post a season with fewer than 1,000 yard receiving after posting 10 straight seasons over 1,000 yards to start his career.
Evans is a big body receiver who uses his long stride, size, and arm length to make plays all over the field as well as a deep ball receiver and big-time red zone threat.
Over 10 NFL seasons, Evans has posted 94 career touchdown receptions including posting at least 12 touchdowns in five different seasons.
5. Davante Adams
Team: Las Vegas Raiders
2023 Stats: 103 REC, 1,144 YDS, 8 TD, 11.1 AVG
Rounding out the Top 5 on the Top 10 NFL Wide Receivers 2024 Rankings list is the Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams.
While Adams took a step back in receiving yard production from the previous three seasons it is hard to blame that on him and take away home greatness when a wide receiver number 17 is on the football field.
With concerns at the quarterback position entering the 2024 NFL schedule, Adams will continue to be the team’s most dependable wide receiver after posting his fifth season with at least 100 catches last season and 1,000 yard receiving.
The Raiders All-Pro wide receiver is a shifty receiver that continues to use his quickness, breakaway speed and route running abilities to beat opposing defenses.
4. Amon-Ra St. Brown
Team: Detroit Lions
2023 Stats: 119 REC, 1,515 YDS, 10 TD, 12.7 AVG
After an amazing third season with the Detroit Lions, it is hard to imagine an even bigger season out of Amon-Ra St. Brown but that will be the case as he looks to continue to be mentioned among the best receivers in the league.
The former USC Trojans wide receiver has improved in each season since being drafted by the Lions during the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Brown increased his receptions from 90 to 106 to 119 in each of the previous seasons while seeing his receiving yards climb from 912 to 1,161 to 1,515 last season.
St. Brown is a mismatch for any cornerback in the NFL using his all-around playmaking abilities to separate in coverage as well as within the red zone after posting a career high 10 touchdown receptions last season.
3. CeeDee Lamb
Team: Dallas Cowboys
2023 Stats: 135 REC, 1,749 YDS, 12 TD, 13 AVG
After finishing second in the NFL in receiving yards with 1,749 last season, CeeDee Lamb has sights on leading the NFL in 2024 while helping to lead the Dallas Cowboys to the Super Bowl.
Lamb, who will enter his fifth season at just 25 years old has used his solid frame and six-foot two-inch body to put him in position to shine each season. The Cowboys receiver is coming off his third straight 1,100 plus receiving season after finishing with 1,749 receiving yards while trailing only Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins.
To go along with size, Lamb is a polished route runner with strong acceleration and breakaway speed to separate in coverage.
Over 17 games last season, Lamb posted 80 first downs, a league high 29 plays of over 20 yards, and a career high 12 touchdown receptions while being Dak Prescott’s go to weapon on offense.
2. Justin Jefferson
Team: Minnesota Vikings
2023 Stats: 68 REC, 1,074 YDS, 5 TD, 15.8 AVG
Entering the 2024 NFL season the big concern with the Minnesota Vikings offense will be built around the lack of elite passing quarterback under center.
While this has the potential to impact the production of Justin Jefferson, it is hard to not think the former LSU Tigers wide receiver will just continue to put up numbers.
After passing the 1,400-yard mark in his first three seasons, injuries slowed down Jefferson last season limiting him to just 1,074 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
However, that production came over just 10 games putting him on pace for a full season to reach 1,700 receiving yards. Jefferson’s toolbox is loaded making him one of the NFL’s toughest wide receivers to cover on any pass attempt.
1. Tyreek Hill
Team: Miami Dolphins
2023 Stats: 119 REC, 1,799 YDS, 13 TD, 15.1 AVG
In at number one on the Top 10 NFL Wide Receivers 2024 Rankings list is the Miami Dolphins speedy wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Hill, who has earned the nickname the cheetah, continues to rank among the fastest wide receivers in the NFL.
The Dolphins receiver used that speed to his advantage along with the team’s explosive play calling to lead the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards over 119 catches while also tying for the league lead with Mike Evans with 13 touchdown receptions.
Despite sitting at just five foot 10 inches, Hill has not let that slow him down after posting his sixth 1,000 yard receiving season last season.
